Movement speed might be too fast and the game is difficult, but it's still great.

Loved the movement! The moving platform boost mechanic reminds me of Celeste :)

a very straight forward fun game! easy to understand and fun to play. nice art, nice  sounds, very solid! GJ! :)

Good controls. Great that there is save/continue feature!

Best game I played so far! I really like the mechanic! Good Job.

It felt pretty liberating to squash and squish on platforms to mold into shape! I was sweating for a second cause in other games you die when you get flat, but it's genius for a slime!! Also the Slime SFX when you jump up and down was very mesmerizing @_@

The chainshaw level is too hard!

Sorry to hear you didn’t have a good time. I knew the game was difficult and I had a hard time balancing it because I got good at my own game by playing for 4 days. Thanks for giving it a shot!

Very nice concept! The idea of the level changing your properties so you can complete puzzles is creative :)

I was very pleasantly surprised by the depth of the mechanics of this game - the squishing to fit into places / jump higher or fall slower were very clever! Also impressed by the number of levels you were able to pack into this game in only 96 hours! Unfortunately I suck at platformers so I had to throw in the towel on the level after obtaining the orb, but what I did play was very neat.

Also, I'm always surprised and delighted to find games that don't use Unity or Godot! I didn't know there was a Node game engine, that's really neat!

Edit to add: I forgot to say, this might just be because I'm really bad at platformers, but I found myself wishing the game was less sensitive to my inputs sometimes - mainly when navigating around the sawblades, haha. I also found the game really, really quiet - I had to really crank the volume to hear anything.

Thanks for playing! The code is open source and so is the engine that I’m always tuning for the things I make. Here’s a link to my engine and packager https://github.com/NicholasDenaro/node-game-engine

we *literallly* almost named our game Slime Climb. You all owned it though. Excellent work, and welcome to the brotherhood of slime games.

The art style and gameplay was so fun and engaging! I thoroughly enjoyed this platformer and loved the scaling effect. Well done!

Submitted

The scaling effect is so cool and original!! I love this lil platformer.

Really cool game! It's remarkable how long it is considering it's a jam game, and it was really cool to see your abilities actually progress from using the platforms into being able to control the scaling yourself. I feel like most jam games don't have the scope to add things like that and it was cool to see. Great work!

Just as a quick heads up, I did encounter one weird bug- for some reason, when you're using the arrow keys, the game doesn't seem to be able to recognize more than two inputs at once- so if you press the up, left, and space keys all at the same time to try and jump to the left while scaled up, one of the inputs gets lost every time. Luckily it works completely fine if you just stick to using WASD. Just figured I'd mention that so you'd know/ so future game jam people know to use WASD!

I think the problem you’re running into might be related to the kind of keyboard you are using. I’ll try and keep that in mind going forward. I primarily used arrow keys and X key for my testing, but I have a mechanical keyboard with n-key-rollover which allows me to press a bunch of buttons all at the same time. Thank you for the warning!

This game is great, it gets really tough too. I spent a good chunk of time trying to go through levels. The level design is super creative, really expands on the game's mechanics. Congratulations on your submission!

squishing the player's proportions using platforms is such a cool mechanic! super cool use of the theme in a puzzle setting

Great, very polished game! Had a ton of fun playing it.

I love the level design, this game has huge potential!

It's a bit similar to mine 😅 At one point i also had slimes in mind, but i changed something more COOL 🥶(pun intended)

Absolutely outstanding game.  I've lost track of time while playing it.  This one's got a lot of potential, and I'd love a full version of it!  I do feel like the controls for scaling could use some tweaking as some of the jumps were a tad difficult, but otherwise, I had a ton of fun!

Nice job on the game design!

Love this game, feels like it could be a good speedrun game! Not sure how it fits the theme though haha

Developer

I found the theme so hard this year. It’s a bit of a stretch, but my thought for scale was to scale the slime sprite and have the scaling change the way some of the physics work in the game. Thanks for playing!
