This was legit the game we were going to make last year before deciding on the Flappy Bird dating sim. Cheers to you!

I like that generally doing the right thing led to good results (For me anyway!). It would have been too easy to make this a depressing reflection of real life! Nice game, well done!

Creative idea and style! Nice entry, well done 🏆

Love the aesthetic for this, I had a laugh at the moguls. Great palette!

I like the visual style and all of the different situations that can occur! Very creative, great work. :]

I like the aesthetics, and I found it quite funny for some reason

Great game! Love the writing and the aesthetic. Definitely has the potential for a casual time waster. Satisfying experience, well done!

funny and cool game, we love being megacorporation ceo
(im @jiumble in the scoreboard hehehe)
probably one of the most engaging games because i spent way too long amassing my land and being corrupt (in game)

I was immediately drawn to get a high score and made it to the top five. I will be playing this even after the jam. perfect time killer and addicting to play!!!!

I got 7th highest score! I love how it kept expanding but when it stopped it felt a little repetitive. Also it was kind of difficult to read all the funny events when I felt like I needed to keep up with the new ones. On the other hand, if they popped up faster as it continued then it would be more engaging gameplay-wise I think so it's a bit of a pick-and-choose type of dilemma.

There's another game in the jam I found that's kind of similar, I think you'd like it: https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2024/rate/2904496

Yeah the text is sometimes very hard to read.  Currently the micro management aspect fights with reading the descriptions I need to find a better solution for this exact issue. I have a couple of ideas I might try out post rating phase. Thanks for linking the other game I will definitely have a look at it!

Very fun game, I had to cut myself off otherwise I would have been going for hours! The writing is great and the concept fits the theme perfectly.

I played for an even more absurdly long time.

Developer

To be honest this is very absurd I didn't expect players to play for such a long time. I think I haven't gotten to that high of a score since I got bored myself. You're in uncharted waters!

Never bet against other devs! I was hoping to break something by going far enough, but it seemed like it was still such a long ways off... haha

Best writing I have seen in the jam so far, really funny game!

I played for absurdly long time lmao... simple and effective, fun reading all the little flavor texts and managing the different stats. My only complaint is that I could have played forever and never met a lose condition, if the game had some kind of ramp up in difficulty, if the speed of events increased, it would give more incentive to bail out. Other than that great little micromanager game, nice work!

Developer

Currently events just spawn completely randomly with no kind of weighting. Ideally I'd have some kind of game director that paces the action and also spawns events based on a rarity and the players performance. If these things would be there a more orchestrated challenge would be possible.

I also now would have turned the sell out button into an event so you cannot sell out at any time. So you might get a limited time sell offer that you can choose to accept or deny. However I would need to have some time to implement that properly.

I had to compromise my design a bit across the jam since I was running out of time. I initially envisioned selling out as a way to upgrade your character stats.

Really a fun game, i'll suggest you to make the camera moving with the mouse, but for anything else it was perfect

the game is super nice, I have a question, how do you go about making a leaderboard? Great job here! I like music too ;)

Developer(+2)

I'm using godot and used silent wolf as a backend service. Silent wolf is has a generous free tier and a good godot plugin. It took me under an hour to implement it in my game with their documentation. Very kind folk over there!

Ok that's good to know, thank you very much for your answer :)))

Fun idea, I like the take on the theme. I liked the fast paced decisions, of course I had to go with Reeve, intelligence is for the weak minded. The CEOs descriptions are gold. UI needs a little bit of improvement, I had difficulties reading text, but fun game. Nicely done.
