Pretty fun, really frantic action platformer, with great music too. Definitely a bit rough around the edges (I find myself getting stuck on ledges really often) but still overall a really fun time! Could definitely see this concept fleshed out!

Developer(+1)

Hopefully this issue occurs less now, just updated the game now ratings are over. Theres also a time trial esque mode

Super fun! Got pretty challenging, loved it

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed the difficulty

Cool little game! I liked the very literal interpretation of the theme. Character controls felt pretty good, well done! Effects were a bit much for my taste, especially the screenshake caused me a little nausea. I also sometimes had trouble telling apart foreground and background building parts, though I'm not quite sure why. Overall, a very solid entry!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and for playing! Will look to address this with a small patch after

Developer

An option to remove the screen shake has now been added along with a time trials and other fixes, smoke also has increased transparency now and backgrounds are darker

I really liked the game; the graphics and gameplay are very nice and smooth.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

The game feels exciting, and the platforming is quite smooth. The music choice is great. The timing in some levels might be a little too tight, and the smoke effect often blocks half the screen.  The platforming still feels nice. I also like how different platforms and tools were added in the later levels. Well done!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah I think the smoke should either show behind the player, be reduced or have its transparency increased, side note its also a pain for YouTube video quality haha, found that out making my trailer last minute

Developer

The smoke effect has now been reduced, thanks for the feedback!

Good mechanic with enough challenge to make it repeatable to play! Love the narrative behind the theme, makes this game like one theme that is really put together. The hard rock music really encapsulates the tension lol. Good job for this game! :)

Developer

Thanks for playing! I was on the fence about whether to include the narrative on the itch page or not I'm glad you liked it

Really fun game, the time pressure because of the flame really adds to the gameplay. The only issue is that the jump feels a bit floaty and sometimes you can jump really high when walking on a slope and jumping at the right moment. Other than that, really good!

Developer

Slopes are pain 😭 glad you enjoyed it!

Developer

Slopes have been adjusted, hopefully you won't shoot off a mile into the air now

Check out mine as well. :)

Really good stuff over here, the pixel art was great to, combining them all into a platformer was amazing

Submitted(+1)

Loved the pixel and the platformer ! You made so much of it, that was super cool to play :D

Submitted(+1)

Really loved the pixel art. The dock animation is so cute <3 made me laugh. The mechanics made it way better, climbing, running to jump higher and the ledge climb does go well with everything.

Developer

Thanks for playing! That was my favourite animation to make haha

Submitted(+1)

Nice little platformer with the added speedrunny effect of the flame ! Would have appreciated if the background pillar were a bit less saturated as some times i don't know if they are infront or behind (the red ones can be some times hard to see level 3 in particular)

Good work !

Developer(+1)

Yeah they could use some work, there's a later level where I was sometimes forgetting my own route as the dev 💀 will see about updating this after voting. Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+1)

Hehe I happen to suck at my own game so I understand the struggle. Keep it up !

Developer(+1)

Backgrounds are now darker so hopefully this has been addressed

Submitted(+1)

Fun and challenging! I feel that the jump is very frustrating at times, but maybe that's what you were going for?

Developer

Thanks! I think this was a bug with my wall checks that sometimes cancels out your jump if you're too close to a wall, I set myself a weekend deadline for submission but hopefully I can fix this up quickly after voting is over. Id have liked the wall climb to work on lower down ledges as well but I think its a related issue

Developer

This jumping should hopefully be better and more consistent now

I got the dude to safety! You managed to add a lot of mechanics in such a short period of time. Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thankyou for playing! My favourite mechanic to add was the sand, the level where you keep piling the sand up into a tower from multiple spots was my favourite

Submitted(+1)

I had fun playing this. Good level of difficulty. Great job!

Developer

Thanks! I remember seeing a video saying not to make game jam games too difficult as they might not get played for long, this was the first jam I've done where I've had it in mind while making it, so I'm glad you found it to be a good level

The Art and use of colors is very nice. The crumbling effect is very nice and the screenshake makes it so much more threatning. Good Job!

Developer

Thanks! I had fun implementing the smoke and screen shake near the bottom
