That was really fun! The idea of platforming but big/small was done a lot, but this one is really fast-paced and flows naturally once you get a hang of the jump distances between different sizes.
The charater design is good, he has a silly face, I love him!
I haven't used it, but the fact that you thought about a Remove Timer option is a really nice touch!
Great job! =D
I like the rapid switching between size, though I couldn’t get a feel how you jump higher when changing sizes, I just mashed buttons and it worked :D
I really like that you incorporated both the literal theme "Built to Scale" and the big and small aspect of it!
The movement was smooth and pretty enjoyable. I appreciated the progression of how each mechanic is used, a lot of games don't pull it off nearly as good as this one!
I was defeated by the timer but the platforming felt nice. I like how transitioning states mid jump was important to progression
Love the simple artstyle, the sounds are very satisfying, and a good fit for the theme. Unfortunately encountered a bug which blocked my way further, but I think I was somewhere in the middle of the run at that point, so I got to enjoy the core idea :D Good job!
Love the cute little lava guy!
Fun game, hype music.
I could use the ‘K’ size before picking up the gem?
Yea, it's a bug I only noticed after I published it.
There's a function that removes the ability to grow when you're in small areas, and another that returns your ability to grow when you leave the areas. But it gives you the average size back, before you should have it.
Fun idea, and the game is nice and challenging! I like how the sizes are introduced slowly to let you see how each should be used.
My only complaint is that there's a lot of "air-time" due to the large hitboxes, where you float for a bit while at the edge of a platform, and some of the challenges rely to heavily on abusing that.
Overall great job!
nice game
Well done on finishing what seems to be your first game on itch.io!
I quite enjoyed my time with the game. I did get soft-locked once after being introduced to shrinking. The movement felt a bit stiff, but it kind of worked in the games favor in certain platforming sections, as you could jump between platforms very precisely. I enjoyed the ticking clock as it both let me know that the game wasn't very long and gave the game a good intensity (only magnified by the amazing music!)
Most of all though, I really enjoyed the character design - made a quick fanart of the lil guy:) Thanks for the game!
Nice work! Some of the climb was pretty frustrating because I would drop and have to redo a huge chunk of the climb. I think more frequent check points would have made it a bit less stressful!
Nice Game! A bit difficult because of the time but thats fine! Good Work!
nice work! The different size states for the player felt nice and I liked the differences in jump height, speed, and ability for each of them. I ran into some weirdness with the box over the button to reveal part of the level after getting the third powerup, but I found a way through it. Nice game!
Changing scale to maintain momentum is a pretty unique idea. The character controller is a bit slide-y imo but nice work!
This is a decent take on the theme, I did like the momentum mechanic you've got with changing sizes while midair. The level design and platforming challenges could use some work though, I feel like falling into pits should just kill the player or otherwise punish them, just pressing R to restart felt a bit clunky. Furthermore, there is a lack of game juice and feel with any of the player's movements. Try adding sound effects, particles, movement acceleration/deceleration, and maybe even screenshake in some cases. There's a lot of little details that you can mess around with to really make the game pop! Nicely done though :)
Keeping momentum when changing sizes midair is a very cool mechanic. There should be an automatic reset instead of R whenever you mess up. Very fun!
Cool game concept.
It's like Braid, but with intentional softlocks. Fun!
art and music is great. fun to play. excellent work!
