How does your game fit the theme?
A cute puzzle game where you strategically place house blocks to increase the number of residents. You literally need to build a house that can fit as many residents as possible

Was waiting for something like this! Wanna start out by giving a shoutout to the art, which looks very cute. The gameplay was fun and pretty pleasant! Not without its flaws and bugs I noticed, such as when I dropped a block and my whole tower collapsed and the camera was stuck in the same shot. It only panned down when I placed the next block. Was able to score 350 or so! Great work!
A simple but effective Tetris-like game ^^ (Though I do feel sorry for the cats living there XD). A small piece of feedback: there was a moment when the camera was out of place. My tower collapsed while I was selecting a piece, so I had to place a block in mid-air before the camera repositioned correctly. I scored 271!
If you want to check out our game, feel free to do so :3 https://butterflan.itch.io/spicy-king
Thank you so much for your feedback! I appreciate it. However, I’m sorry to mention that it’s against the rules to ask people to rate your game in the comments
If possible, could you show me where it's mentioned in the rules? I didn't see that information, and I want to make sure I understand correctly.

The Housing Issue has the beginnings of an nice, casual puzzle game. It's a fun idea for a Tetris variant and the background music and color palette give it a relaxing feel.
I could see a lot of ways that this could be expanded by adding more block types or having to build around obstacles. I like that you're given an option of three blocks to build from; however I found myself defaulting to the line pieces. Given how high you're building, using the S- and Z-blocks feels a bit unfeasible. I actually found them harder to work with than the ice and bouncy blocks, so I think they should probably be given a higher point value. They could be more usable if you were able to nudge them as they fall or rotate them so that they can fill in gaps more easily.
Those are just some thoughts for the future. Over all, I had a lot of fun with this!
Thank you so much! I believe the game isn't perfectly balanced so your suggestions is really important for the future of The Housing Issue!
This game is very well polished! I like that I don't lose instantly if I make a single mistake, no matter how large the collapse is (although a large enough collapse can be pretty bad, since it prevents me from reaching any hearts for a while). I also like that it displays a helpful grid to help me line things up (until I mess up and make everything diagonal).
Worst landlord ever, all my cats were living at 45 degree angles, lol 🙀 love how this looks, great solo effort!
Super impressed by one-person-work!
Played your game for 5-6 rounds, overly cute and addicting!

Fun and Pretty artstyle i love the cat theme! This kind of reminds me of tricky towers. Huhuhu i tried my best and only got 209 :')
Very clean artwork. Glad that I could build on lower floor even after camera goes up, well done! *ps: are cats living in ice and slime blocks too?
That was a lot more fun than I expected. The physics worked really well. Art style, music, animations, it all seems so polished. You've basically almost got a complete casual mobile game on your hands. It was quite tricky though.
Cute, Clean and Fun. I love Cats.
Super cute and super polished! The music is a perfect match. I do wish I could see my final tower after I lost though. Great work!
Thank you! I really wanted to add the final tower view after you lose, but I ran out of time:(
Really fun and the art is amazing! Really like the art style.
Thanks!
Very cozy and interesting game! I liked this interpretation of Tetris.
5 meows out of 5 :)
Thank you! Meow ^-^
Great art and music, a real cozy vibe.
Thanks!
Score 355. Love the cute art style. Great concept and reminds me a lot of tricky towers/
Great max score! And yeh, I was truly inspired by Tricky Towers (love that game)
as some comments staded before it's a simple concept but perfectly executed with a great art style and a cool musicin summary nice game
Thank you!
Loved it. It quickly went from “I’m a god at this” to “I don’t know what I’m doing anymore”. I did do a sick trick with a Z block by tipping it to the side to fit a hole, so that felt great! I got a 301 score so you could say that I’m Moved Permanently.
Great result! Thanks for playing!
Simple but pretty addicting! Love the art style (and especially the art of the cat crying and doing thumbs up on the defeat screen lol 🥲). I housed 207 cats! 🐈
He-he :D I really appreciate that you like my cat illustrations! I'm a big cat fan :P
Nice game! Great job!
Firstly, I really like the idea and mechanics. All the mechanics fit together seamlessly, combining to create a cohesive experience. The art is wonderful, making it easy to understand each part's function. Overall, it's a great game.
One area for improvement is the predictability of the gameplay. At times, it can be unpredictable where blocks will spawn, which makes it difficult to anticipate the force of collision.
Thank you a lot for highlighting this moment, I will think how to make block's spawn more predictable!
