A great game but I do feel like it’s missing something, that one thing that could make it even better. Great entry nevertheless.
You’re right! I agree very much! But you’re right that it’s hard to put hands on it hmmm.
Is it the art? (Like, not atmospheric or just not enough details) UI? (We didn’t have any UI lmfao) Or is it perhaps the controls? Or the game mechanics? Or that it’s lacking something to make it feel special? 🤔 Or is it something else? Would love to let us know/help figure it. It’s really appreciated and rn we’re taking a lot of suggestions and feedbacks since we do want to polish this after the jam and any amount of ideas can help! 🙏
It’s like how the overall game comes together. It’s good but not an experience you’d remember long after playing it. While it could really use another mechanic that’s not the main point. It needs to be a more memorable experience so it stands out among the crowd!
It makes sense! I agree very much with what you’re saying, as I feel it too 🤔 From the start we didn’t think too hard on making it a special game as we were more focussed on getting a good viable product out of it, one that “feels nice”, but it’s obviously that long term that has becomes a big flaw.
As I’m the artist, I can mostly up the art (which can be done if there are no more time constraints), but I don’t feel like that’s enough. Not to mention extreme visual impact is hard to achieve I think.
What would you suggest to up the memorability? 🤔 Or alternatively, apart from games that stood out from their core mechanics, are there any games that made you feel memorable, and why?
Thank you very much for replying btw! It’s honestly so so very much appreciated, you have no idea. 🙏
A very strong entry there. Out of the 30 games I tried, it's definitely in my top 5. Controls feel good, level design is well thought, music is great.
Also, it fits the theme. Quite well.
Good job!
Thank you very much for the compliments! It really is an honour!! ToT
We also plan on expanding it after the jam if you ever want to check it out :D
intuitive and strong design, I really enjoyed it!
Thank you very much for playing our game! :D
Polished to a fine sheen with some very engaging puzzles. Felt like the level design had its own grammar that I was gradually learning as I played. Very intuitive, fantastic work.
so cute game art and game idea, love this game so much, wish for more content to play
I enjoyed playing this! The levels are clean and you did a good job to make sure to never leave the player stuck. I usually do not like puzzle platforrmers, and I felt myself engaged with this. Appriciate the level design that went into this. Almost gave up more than once, but that's a me-issue. I think the checkpoints stopped me from leaving, because I got to just try something new right away.
10min total, not bad at all! Thank you very much for the support!!
I agree on the puzzle parts, often it can be very annoying to be in the middle of a thought of how to solve something only for it to be interrupted because you had to restart the entire thing. So I’m glad the checkpoints ended up being a good thing! And I think we will keep that once we continue working on the game after the jam!
Thank you very much for the feedback and for playing this! :D
It’s a clean and well-made puzzle platformer game! I had a lot of fun! :)
Pretty fun game. the puzzle design was well thought out and enjoyable, although it was a bit annoying to start an entire room over when dying. But that's not much of a big deal. Nice job!
This was great! The platforming was tight and responsive, and the level design used the size mechanics very well. The music is awesome, it reminded me of a Dream Theater song. I was upset that the ESC key took me back to the main menu and I had to start over, maybe have a level select screen or a way to resume your progress? Ultimately, I enjoyed this game and you guys did a great job! Thank you :)
Thank you for the feedback! I think that’s a good point, definitely worth adding a level selector and a continue where left off when we release a full version of it in the future!
Thank you very much for your support!
Great game ! We have implemented the same idea but you definitely did it better ! Keep up the good work :)
Thank you very much!
Yeah it’s been a very popular idea in general, I see many of the literal scale sizing around
Well done, the way you implemented the theme to the character and the level is good!
Thank you very much!
Bravo, best game I've played in the Jam.
Did take a bit of time to tell myself the arrow keys didn't move but once I got past that, top notch.
Really creative to use Alice in Wonderland to fit with the theme. Overall a really enjoyable game! Great job!
Thank you very much!
Great game, graphics and music especially are really beautiful ! Concept is simple but works well, and overall game is really nicely polished, rebindable controls were a life saver, putting the growth controls on the mouse wheel really felt better.
Thank you very much!
After reading your comment the other day I ended up trying it with mouse wheels as growth and that does work very well! Definitely depends on the particular mouse, but mine worked out very well especially with left and right buttons as moving controls.
Easily the best take on this mechanic I've played this jam. Really can't overstate how much I loved this top to bottom.
Really liked how polished and tight this felt - even rebindable controls! :O Really nice!
Good platformer game with nice controls. Well polished too. Good work!
This is by far the best of the "resize the character" games in this Jam I played. The controls are nicely polished, the spritework is amazing, and the puzzles are good. All 5's.
Great puzzle and artstyle!
Thank you very much!!
I really love how you spent the time to draw the sprites for mini Alice. Not everyone would go through such hassle. Amazing game with amazing graphics and level! Just add a restart button next time because I got stuck once and couldn't find a way to reset the level.
