Wow very nice style and gameplay i loved this guys.
BOOK
I’m really impressed with what you guys made in 4 days! The level design is quite good and allows for own experimentation, such as the pillars having the small collders that you can land on. The jump mechanic feels really intuitive and good to use and within a few uses I could easily predict where I'll end up which is great. The game also looks great too. Honestly can't really think of anything negative from what I played, apart from the obvious issues you guys already pointed out, like the restart button not working. Overall great stuff!
What a fantastic little game, bit too tricky for me but what an extremely impressive game for such a short jam, everything is done so well! Reminds me of rage games to be honest, but in a slightly less frustrating way, I will be returning to try the game again in the future!
Damn ! What a game for a 4 day jam, even with assets used ! Getting it all together with a good lighting and clever level design (I swear I hated you for a second with the green potion and the plank at the beginning of the level) is a fair amount of work !
Love the jump mecanic, sometimes my best friend and my worst enemy, really had a lot of fun with it ! Congrats for this funny, enjoyfrustrating adventure !
Thanks for playing! I may have to look into using different colors for some of the non-glowing vials in the future, sorry about that
Oh, I though you did it on purpose as a trap ! It worked well :D
Well, I saw "wizard" and "frog" and immediately got interested, but I was shocked by the high general quality of the game. Extra points for the very intricate settings, too. The hopping takes some time to get used to, leading to some frustration at the start (as is probably intended, with the Getting Over It -style design), but ultimately nailing the leaps felt very satisfying. Good job!
It's a really cool concept, I just had a lot of trouble with how unpredictable the jump could be, especially with bouncing off the walls
Fun premise and very pretty! The precision platforming proved a bit too much for me and I fell through a platform once or twice, so I gave up after the green vial.
The difficulty increase after the first vial is unfortunately harsher than it should be. It will be reduced when the game can be updated again though.
Hi, dev team here. We found a bug you should know about.
If you restart the game after having grown once (i.e. sipping the potion in progress), the game will not scale your hitbox back down again. Thus, hitbox scalings will stack.
It is recommended that you close and re-open the game whenever you want to try again.
Sorry about this!
Really neat and well-polished game! I appreciated the vide variety of graphics settings. I will confess I didn't make it much further than the green vial - it was just too difficult for me, and I got frustrated replaying the start of the level over and over again. I really enjoyed what I played, though. I found it played very much like Jump King.
Thanks for the feedback. There did seem to be a difficulty spike there for a few people, so I will be reducing the tedium of getting to a blue vial when the game can be updated again.
Enjoyed this quality game! This game really makes me feel small at first with the environment design, but the scaling with the potion is a very interesting idea; good job on the scaling theme. The platformer stage is a bit hard at first levels (maybe because I have skill issue?) and might need a few tweak to have a better leveling progression for beginner. Or just have an option to glide mid-air to better reposition the player. With a few tweaks, would be a really good experience. Good job!
Thanks! I intend to increase the rather limited air control that is currently present once the jam is done, since it does seem like it would help the initial experiance quite a bit.
Cute little game! I love the hopping although I found it punishing at times, but that's par for the course with this type of game and I'm not very good at them. Great job making a smooth feeling experience!
Loved the movement in the game! Idk if it was just a bug but everytime I tried playing it told me to jump in the pot and I would go back to the main menu.
Glad you liked the movement! I can’t reproduce the lack of ending cut-scenes, but I have an idea of what could cause it. If the escape key is stuck down, cut scenes and credits might get skipped. The start button on a controller being stuck down could probably also cause that, as they are mostly supported outside of menus.
This was a total blast to play! Wizard Tower Mis-hop is easily one of the most polished games I've come across in this jam so far.
Platforming was a bit tough/tedious, but I really liked the general theme and level design. The visuals were also fantastic too! Glad I played it :)
Great game! I love the interpretation of the theme and the hop movement is challenging and rewarding :)
This was pretty hard, as other people mentioned. I think it would be better if you could have mid-air control to make it easier. Other than that, great work, and the 3D visuals look really nice (especially for a Godot game).
There is some slight mid-air control (and it increases after a step where you sip the potion brew) but the baseline value for it should probably be increased post-jam.
This reminds me of only up. The theme seems a bit forced in, but still very interesting!
This is the only 3-D game I played that actually worked. The movement could use some polish but works well enough. Falling down can get very frustrating so having some way to get back up to where you have already been more easily would be nice. The quality of the game was the highest of any that I played, it had only 1 bug that I encountered and it was not a major one (the platform that you mention lacking collision) the music, voice acting, and sound effects were better than any of the other games I played. It was also one of a few I played that had adjustable volume letting me comfortably play the game without having to mute it.
Thanks for the kind words and feedback! We put a lot of passion into everything, and personally, the music was a lot of fun to make. Glad you tried it, we plan on polishing the game further and tweaking it a bit once the game jam is over, and will be sure to incorporate your feedback in our conversations.
I got froged. Amazing work this was really quality stuff!
We are really happy you had fun! We will be adding some additional features and tweaks once the game jam is over, so stay tuned
