Wow! The interaction between the player and the scaling objects leads to some really interesting interactions. Awesome work!
Thanks for playing! The scaling via swapping with other objects was something I decided on early, so I tried to base later mechanics around it too. Glad to know you liked it!
Very nicely done! I love that you have a "Goal Size" to match, along with actually swapping places with the blocks of a different size. Opens up a ton of fun puzzle potential. Great job.
Thanks for playing! Since the theme of the jam was about “scale”, I wanted it to be very important to the gameplay; hence, I made it so that the player needed to be an exact size to finish each level.
Nice work!! polished and well put together, I really liked that the size scaling mechanic was "swapping" your scale values with an object, lead to a lot of pretty interesting to think about puzzles.
Thanks for playing! Initially I was going to have you simply take the size of an object without switching places, but I realised that would restrict level design (I’d have to make sure there was always space available for the player in their current position). Instead, I made it so that positions swapped as well; that way, it would be certain that there would be space available.
Wonderful design and idea
Thanks for playing! It did take me a little while to actually settle on my idea though - I knew I wanted for the player to change size, but it took me a while to think of how it should happen in gameplay.
Fun puzzle game, last level had me stumped
Thanks for giving it a go! I hope the difficulty wasn’t too imbalanced; it’s pretty hard to judge the difficulty of a puzzle game without having other people to test the puzzles.
progression worked pretty well, last level just took me longer lol
Great game and great use of scaling, had me thinking real hard!
Cheers mate! Good to know the puzzles are getting people thinking - it’s hard to measure that when developing since I already know the solutions.
Feels very finished for a jam game, the graphics and music work well together. There was a level earlier on that, maybe the one that introduced keys where I got to the bottom and had quickly forgotten how to pick up, maybe a pick-up prompt when you're the appropriate size for the key would people like us. Awesome work
Thanks for the feedback! I considered adding on-screen prompts showing the correct size you needed to be, the button to press, etc., but left it out due to time constraints. I did add a buzzer sound though, which would sound when an action wasn’t allowed. If I had more time I definitely would have made interactions a bit more UI-friendly! I definitely agree that there could have been better communication to the player.
Amazing use of the scale theme in a puzzle setting. Really nice aesthetics and gameplay too, the character feels really nice to control
Thanks for playing! I put a fair bit of effort into making the gameplay smooth and the visuals pleasing, glad to know you enjoyed it!
The concept is great! Really polished game for such a short time! Congrats!
Thanks so much! I wish I could have added a few more levels, but I decided to focus on polishing what I had already made instead.
Very unique concept, and executed brilliantly; love the art too!
Thanks for the comment! Though I admit, half of the art (like the player and some of the backgrounds) is just re-used from an old project I worked on (but never finished) years ago.
I liked the smoothness of the transforming and the puzzles are really hard, to points where i stared at the game for a good 15 minutes
Glad to know you enjoyed playing! Honestly I was actually a bit worried that the puzzles were too easy - but then again, I designed them, so I already knew the solutions. It’s good to hear that they seem to be getting people thinking.
Fun game. I also wanted to make a platformer but could not think of anything original or interesting. I liked the little tutorials and info text you put to make it easier to understand how the game works. Also some of the puzzles wer very clever. Great Job
Thanks for the feedback! I added the info text to help players get a feel for the game and how they should be thinking about the puzzles, given that it’s a pretty different kind of puzzle-platformer.
Fun game with excellent mechanics. I really enjoyed solving the puzzles.
Thanks for playing! I hope the difficulty of the puzzles felt right - it’s something I couldn’t test on my own, since I already knew the puzzle solutions.
