Neat game! I've seen that procedural animation video and it was really cool to see someone's implementation of that! I really liked the visual aesthetics, though I have pretty bad thalassaphobia so I wasn't able to get up to the biggest size before chickening out, which I guess is probably a compliment that despite being fairly simple the visuals were enough to spook me lol! It was hard to tell what I was allowed to touch and what I was supposed to avoid, which is a super common problem in these kinds of "avoid big things catch small things" games. Personally I would've allowed players to hold the button instead of mashing, but after getting used to it it felt really nice to speed up and slow down with it. Nice work!

I like the style of the game, the visuals give it a nice atmosphere and procedural animations are really interesting. It could use some music  and I'm not really a fan of button-mashing for movement

Wooow I love the movement of the fish!
Really satisfying movements, but the controls need to get used to the repeated mashing of the directional keys. Still, it reminds of good old ecco the dolphin in it's megadrive era!

The third form was not as difficult as I feared after reading your warning, but I was a bit too fast and I ended up stuck in a wall! ^^

Good prototype, would love to see it pushed at least a bit further!

I love a game where you eat things to get bigger. It always scratches some itch in the back of my brain.

I agree with what others have expressed, the controls feel a bit... off. Having to repeatedly tap instead of hold to move in a direction gets tiring very fast.

Great job and use of procedural animations!

I like the idea, as mention on page i lack some music or sound, controls were bit weird and for some reason i couldnt max my scale meter other than that i had good experience. :)

Very good idea! I loved the intensity when the massive fish chases you. The controls were a bit weird though.

Not bad, I really like the idea!

I liked a lot all those procedural fish movements, pretty creative and unique, haven't really seen anyone doing this in this game jam. Even though playing with 3 and 4 scales was harder, i liked the new looks of fish. Could use some more spawning of small fish in the first area though. Good work!

controls were a bit weird to get the hang on at the start and the introduction text was kind of long to read, but overall nice game to play.

I love how organic all the sea creatures look, it's a very neat style

Nice game! The procedural animations and visuals looked nice! Controls are unusual, but fun. Well done!

I got all 4 scalesss

Collectables may seem effortless or pointless but I believe it gives any game a lot more "depth"

Procedural animation also looked satisfying

Yeah the scales will just give a different look to the fish if you go near the purple octopus in the bright zones. Scales 3 and 4's looks are actually buggy, since they shrink the mouth's range, so I hope you didn't encounter that. I added the scales originally as a type of key, but I didn't like it.

Thanks for playing!

Hey,

Nice game, I liked how the fish moves! Sometimes big ennemy fish was moving in a weird way but in general it was ok

Congrats for the game
