Cute Game!
Cute game! As the comment below I think it would be better with a defined objective and more content. But cool idea!
Nice game! I wish it had a clear goal, since after I had a huge army I didn't know what to do
Congrats on the submission :)
We will give your army a clear goal in the next release!
super cute style :) i love bees so much!!!!!! the art is adorable!
Interesting game with nice art and fun gameplay. I enjoyed scaling my bee colony.
cute and meditative, kind of like stardew valley. I wish there was more variety in the map and perhaps some deeper mechanics. flying around and harvesting pollen is surprisingly satisfying, though. I was also surprised by how nice the graphics were; a lot of them looked quite nice, like the honey combs.
Thanks! I can see you have some pixel art experience your self ;)
Yeah, we trying to give the game some more features surrounding the scaling of the bees.
Hey, nice entry! The controls are smooth, and throwing the bees is satisfying. It could be a good starting point for a larger game.
Yeah? Is it a base for a bigger game?
Fine base for a game. Could bee a nice Slime Rancher like game where you collect different types of bees and interact with many different flowers to produce honey or something like that. Overall nice idea!
Also a great idee. Glad you enjoyed playing.
Nice graphics, sound, overall presentation! An indicator to show where the hive is would be nice. Had a chill time collection honey!
Thanks for playing. Yeah, we had a indicator but we had a bug last minute..
Gathering bee's and draining all flowers was fun at first but after growing my colony to a decent size I felt a bit lost. Killing all the giant wasps was quite easy and after draining the red flower I felt like I had seen everything. The game is going the right direction but was lacking a goal, maybe a competing bee hive?
Good idee. Thanks for the feedback.
I liked getting more bees for my swarm, but I didn't know why I was doing that. I missed some sort of goal. It was fun to fly around and explore, but I got lost and couldn't find my hive again. So fellow player, beeware, don't lose your hive!
You're right. Having a goal would be making this a real game.
I enjoyed the main mechanics but was missing gameplay at the later stages.
Letting your swarm focus on one flower, letting it spread our and swarm to all nearby flowers was super satisfying.
You managed to really capture the swarm feeling. (Not that I would know what being a swarm would feel like :D)
Maybe a circular map with the hive in the center could have worked better.
The rectangular approach led to some very long and empty journeys.
It was interesting to discover new flower types and learning which ones give the more pollen.
It took me a while to understand that left clicking allows attacking the larger insects. It cost me half my swarm in the early game and led me to restart since there was no way to get the bees back. (You can only get new bees, but you can not fill the empty hive)
I wish that spreading pollen would have caused more flowers to grow. At the end there were no flowers left and my swarm was doomed to starve. :(
I went back to the game afterwards to check what happens when you lose all your hp and your swarm. Turns out you just get softlocked. There is no way to get any more bees and no death screen or anything. I guess you had bigger plans than the deadline allowed.
Nevertheless it is very impressive what you did accomplish in the time frame.
If you update the game post jam, I'd be very interested to see what else you can think of.
Thanks for taking your time to let us know what you think about the game.
- The map idee is a great solution to the boring journeys.
- The communication about all the features need to be clear.
- Recover mechanic when you lost all the bees need to be implemented.
- Oh, the flowers had te grow back. A bug to fix!
- True no time to setup the menu's and restart buttons.
Again. Thanks for given this much feedback.
Cool game. :) I like bees.
Same
Cute game! Collecting pollen was satisfying, although the game felt a bit empty at times, but the idea and mechanic is really cool.
So you say, make a full game out of it?
Very cute game, I loved the sounds of the bees collecting pollen and the animations on the queen. I wish the game was a bit harder though. I never felt threatened by the wasps and could just keep on expanding my bee colony without issues.
Harder? OK! Making the wasp a threat!
Nice and cozy game, very chill. I like the subtle tutorial showing the spacebar key, but I thought I had to tap it because of how it was animated haha
Thanks for the feedback!
Very fun!
it's very fun to collect the pollen with that little popping noise you used, and i like having a lot of bees especially with how they fly around but the number of bees doesn't seem to make a difference to anything you're doing. they don't for instance spread out when there's a lot of pollen to collect in some of those large groups on the map which makes the incentive to collect them lower. it was still fun though regardless, good work!
When you release spacebar, they will spread out around you.
When you then press it again they will individually swarm to the flowers that are nearest to them.
We didn't plan enough time for play test. We're trying out some ideas for using the big swarm.
Thanks for playing.
I love the concept of hives and zerg rush! Cool concept, looking forward to seeing the idea develop in the future!
There will be an update in the future.
this game is adorable! its pretty simple but i enjoyed growing a little bee colony. a map would be nice - and im not sure when the 'boss' triggers but my game started to lag pretty early. not your fault, i have a poor laptop!
We will consider it for our next build, thanks
