Extremely fun game. There's a lot of resource management going on with random dice. Rock tower might be slightly too powerful.

I really liked the presentation of this one. I think the core idea of spending different amounts of dice to do different actions is pretty interesting too. I beat it on my first try by prioritizing building towers, but I tried out all the different traps and spells when I could. The rock trap was very effective against the final enemy. I was a bit unsure whether the elemental shields meant that they resisted those elements or if I should attack with those elements; I assume the former. I hope this game gets updated further!

A fantastic idea and one of the most fun games I've played so far in the jam! Having to plan out your strategy on the fly based on what dice you get, along with the variety of dice to use, just make this so enjoyable to play. Like other commenters said, some effects juice would really push this one over the top, and while it wasn't necessary (I feel like I learned pretty quickly through trial/error) some tutorialization on what some of the dice and enemies do would be welcome as well. That's not first priority for a 48 hour jam, though, and I still had a blast with this one.

Suuper fun and addicting game !! I found myself playing this one for a while and a well polished game too :)) Good stuff overall :D

Mesmerizing, I like the backstory. The gameplay is quite innovative on tower defense games' genre. Love the graphics and the soundtrack, which is just *chef kiss*.

Good luck with the jam, I want to see a full release of this with maybe a mobile port!

Thank you for your feedback! There will definitely be a mobile port after the jam

I beat the game :D

Overall I found this game to be amazing and strategic. The premise of the game wasn't too hard to grasp, it just took a bit of reading of the description to understand. The artstyle was awesome and the audio was fitting, alongside the music.

The progression of the game was also surprisingly fluent compared to other tower defense games, although at times I found it very easy, but that's probably because of some of the tactics I have found effective in beating the game, such as using freeze turrets early on in the game to increase the effectiveness of splash turret damage (since slower enemies end up grouping together more closely), and also that using earth magic is very effective for crowds.

If that description on itchio didn't exist, it would have probably have taken me far longer to understand the game mechanics, therefore to improve, I'd recommend having an in-game tutorial instead of a story, or both, if you can manage that!

Lastly, having some game juice may be nice for your game. The art is amazingly well made, but the effects of the magic itself aren't felt as much without things such as mild screen shakes, flashes when enemies get hit, damage counters, more shaking effects, and other fun little effects to maximize player feedback. In a game about magic, the more game juice the better! :D

Overall, I found this to be a fantastic game, well done!

Developer

spot on. Thank you for taking your time to write this.

The much needed first post jam update will be about visual feedback and some tutorial/tooltip system

I'm proud of the balance, I've worked hard on that, glad to see people mentioning it

I like how different combinations of dice produce different effects, though I wish there was a bit more reason to use the individual spells or traps over the towers. It you wanted to expand this game, it might also be cool if different spell types could combine for different towers (like a fire/rock tower that is like a volcano or something)

Very nice job on this game! I loved the visuals for the dice and a tower defense game is always fun. If there was bit more juice I would have even considered this as a complete game!

Really nice job on this one!

Hi! I  nice game. It is very strategic if you want to get to the later stages. And I made the mistake of spamming my attacks in the beginning. Eventually I am at the mercy of the dice to get the attack I need. The only thing I was missing is more animations for the various attacks. Overall great game, music, art and presentation!

Great game!  At the beginning, it would be great to have some tool tips for the dice and enemies.  "Skull Dice: DoT", "Ogre: Resistant to fire".  But you do get to learn them and I thought all the symbols used were spot on.  Loved the hands.  I mean, in 48 hours, this is great.  I really want to play the second version with more animation and maps and more and more and more.  I really liked this game!  Very high marks :)

This is like a complete game already! Looks, feels and plays great! Managed to win the game on the first go by an inch! The story is nice too! I can't help drawing parallels with the magician and real life card magicians using their "magic" to cheat in real life poker and such ;)

Very nice presentation!

Great Artsyle, plus i really liked the idea behind using 1-2-3 dice combinations for different things

First of all, the artstyle is amazing. The gameplay variety is also great. I found myself using all the choices available (instant cast, trap, tower) and wanted to see what the traps and towers of different elements would do. I understand there have been some missing features because of the time limit, but I think this game definitely has potential. It could even have some Magicka-like features, like 2 fire and 1 ice element make a whole different kind of tower. Great work.

Developer

that was the plan! But we had to cut so much stuff, I hope to keep working on this

Thank you for playing!

This game feels like I m in the war, those spells look great even without animation and all great particles. Great job. 👍

Loved this game! Art style makes it very fun, as well as the variety in things to use.

Developer

it has been one hell of a weekend making all those things work (and in fact some of it are not working >.< )

Thank you for playing!
