How does your game fit the theme?
I incorporated the theme of dice by designing the player as a die pip and the levels as cubic dice which must be navigated. The user's primary interaction with the world and the focus of the game's mechanics is through rotation of space, hence roll of the dice.

OMG. I wish I could have come up with this one. F*ck'n brilliant. Some blend of FEZ and Limbo, with amazing atmosphere, simple gameplay and just all around smart and fun puzzles. Top marks!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words!! I'm glad you enjoyed playing :D

An amazing game. I loved the polish, the visual atmosphere, and the puzzle mechanic. 10/10 my favorite game so far.

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing :D

Wow. This is one of the most well polished visually and game mechanic wise games I've seen in this jam. You did an exceptional job at combining both 2D and 3D to make a really clever puzzle platformer. Well Done!

Developer

Thanks!! It was a challenge to put 2D physics in a 3D environment, lots and lots of math in the background but it was a fun challenge to put together!

This is so beautiful! The 3D die-shaped stage is genius and  opens so much more possibilities. Really well-designed puzzles combined with an atmospheric environment makes me want more and more of this game. One of the best games I've played so far. Awesome work!

Developer

Thank you so much! :D

Unique theme implementation! The presentation and gameplay felt really good, and the game was fun overall. Nice work!

Now this is a good use of the theme! When I jumped over the edge for the first time, everything clicked and I knew this was a great premise for a platformer. The art was super clean and suprisingly atmospheric too - especially the raining level.

I definitely think this could be a full game. It doesn't even really need to be dice themed, just the platforming inside a cube idea would be super interesting to explore fully.

Good luck for the future and great job on this :)

Very interesting take on the theme, i quite liked it, made for some rather fun puzzles, the aesthetic was incredible as well, and the atmosphere on point x3
must be one of my favorite entries

Developer

I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for playing :D

Clean and pleasing art style. Feels good to flip the direction of the level when moving. Great audio and presentation. Keep up the good work man!

Developer

Thank you!

This loosely fits the theme, but it's awesome! Also, I see you use Godot... Great job!

Glad you enjoyed it! I admit the end product is a bit overly creative with the theme, but I wouldn't have thought of it if not for that prompt!

i love how gravity changes depending the path you follow through the dice! good presentation and visuals!

Thank you! ^^

Oh hey that's a top contender right there! I dont think i can say anything that has not been said already so ill just put emphasis on how good the level design is - its great! In its core there are no complex platformer mechanics so the game lives and dies by its levels. An i think you did an outstanding job on that part.

Developer

Thanks!! Implementing the graphics and physics took a lot of the time, so I was left with little time to design extra level elements. I'm glad the levels I made with the limited resources were effective! I think the minimalism added to it, in the end :3

This deserves top 100 for sure in my book. Very clever puzzle design, the concept is well thought out and executed on. The ambiance just tickles the senses. Feels very Gris in a way. The subtle animation of the pip as it moves around. I can't say enough good things. Seems like you kept it in scope extremely well.

I don't know if it was intentional but the audio was a bit staticky throughout, I played the web build. Very cool though.

Developer

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you liked it :D
The audio bugs were not intentional (except in level 6 where they were!) It's a known limitation of Godot 3.3 web exports and I decided against putting too much time into trying to solve it. The downloadable versions however should not have the issue!

Submitted(+1)

Cool, and good to know. I've thought about trying out Godot.

Developer(+1)

It's a wonderful engine! Very lightweight but powerful, also free and open source which I love. I hope they fix the audio issue soon, but there's a massive graphics update coming very soon (4.0) and I'm excited for that!

Very liked the game overall!
One of the most creative puzzles around the whole Roll of the Dice theme. All the music, SFX, UI, graphics and feel of the controls  are extremely consistent and good.
Had hard time understanding the underlying mechanics as they become more complex and found myself brute forcing through the last two levels, but I guess that is the nature of the experience it should create. Don't think that there are much to explore beyond what you have done already, but nonetheless will be happy if the game will evolve even more after the voting period! Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! The difficulty curve has gotten some other nice feedback as well, it seems I could have introduced new concepts slower with a couple more tutorial levels. Glad you enjoyed, and thanks for playing!

Wow! I'm amazed. Theme aproach is unique and challenging, and of course perfectly executed. Very enjoyable experience!

This is fantastic! So smart and such a deep take on the theme. Visuals are stunning. Enjoyed every second of it. Forest level — one love!

Submitted(+1)

Wow, this game combines both cool design and creative idea, I really liked it!

This is my favorite jam game so far. Controling that ball very fluid. Art style for each stage very charming. Especially forest chapter <3 I just love it ^^
