Really great art and music. I appreciate that you can swap between songs. I wish the bullets came out of the end of the gun and not the center of the player. An expansion that I think would be good is having enemies moved around and you had more space to move. Adding matching font to the game over screen would be nice too. Good job.

Wow this was a lot of fun, great job! The art was phenomenal, you absolutely killed it in that department! And then the gameplay was great too, the gunplay was very polished and varied between the different weapons. I definitely had some trouble understanding what all the symbols were on the slots and how they necessarily effected things in some cases. But still, outstanding job!
Cute pixel art! Some weapons made me feel like a God.
Fun little experience. One personal suggestion is to work on the hitbox and make it smaller, like a bullet hell game :)))
Now, could I ask you to give our game review? We are stuck into "low-ratings hell" :(
Thumbnail and the menu screen look pretty cool, the music is nice and the sound effects are good. The ability to change music is a cool addition.
Some sprites look blurry and it's hard to understand what the different weapon properties do. Weapon ideas are cool tho.
Good game overall
Love the thumbnail! Sadly, the game shows a grey screen after selecting play... This may be caused by my platform, so I won't leave a rating as Linux support was not a jam requirement. I'd love to play it if you release a Linux export post-jam!
Cool game, could have used a bit more polish here and there to really sell the games' feeling.
I was gunning for 69 kills, but I rolled a shotgun that literally didn’t shoot, the bullet just stood in place so I couldn’t kill any more enemies.
While the idea is nice and the randomness
doesn’t feel unfair, the game needs some more polish, as I encountered a couple of bugs
without playing for too long.
- Enemies not shooting.
- Enemies shooting in only one direction.
- The aforementioned bullets that didn’t move.
- The slot machine appearing before all enemies were killed, they didn’t disappear the moment I interacted with the slot so they could still hurt me.
Now, due to the random mechanic I cannot tell if these are actually bug or working as intended, as there’s not an explanation for what each roll
is, you understand after playing a while, but an in game description of what you got and/or how it affects you or the enemies would have been nice.
Overall, it’s still a fun game and a good take on the theme.
Oh no, I ended up with a shotgun that had negative projectile speed. It could only kill enemies 2 inches behind me! Beat the wave because the enemy bullets also bugged out and fired behind them. XD
I agree with the other feedback here that a few extra hours of polishing would've really elevated this. Making resolution between art assets consistent and adding names for the perks would both a long way.
Honestly, the backward-firing gun was the highlight of the game for me. If you keep working on this (which I think you should; it's a great foundation), I'd love to see you lean into randomized wonkiness more!
I thought the orange tiles were walls, it took a while to get to the center of the arena. It would be cool to sign the perks. I really liked the graphics and the variety of projectiles. Well done!
It's a fun little game, looks and sounds nice.
I felt like the difficulty was a bit high, and I see two reasons for that: enemies start shooting triple bullets right from the start, and the character's hitbox is a bit large. I think since it's a bullet hell, making the hitbox that detects bullets smaller would make the game feel more fair.
Some polishing issues aside, I enjoyed it, great game!
I liked the idea, and I would be lying if I said I didn't have fun playing it. However I do have to agree with other reviews saying some polish was needed. I think if I had to isolate the #1 most important thing to fix, it would be the player feedback on getting hit. I don't really know how much health I have at any given time, and getting hit has no sound.
A fun game, nice idea, but it definitely needed some more polish. Stuff like images being very out of focus, having enemies spawn behind the slot machine UI, having to shoot to advance the slot machine, being able to walk around in between waves and already having your new loadout before you even see it in the slot machine, enemies firing the opposite way... I think with some more time spent ironing out bugs and polishing up some assets, it can be a really good game though!
For me it sadly broke after a while, the bullets didn't move and seemed to spawn only on the player. The AI also started shooting away from me. None the less, it has potential and 48 hours really isn't a lot, so keep at it! Cheers!
Really cool art style , fun game , i think yall nailed the atmosphere ! Good entry !!
I died really quickly on the first play through and then the second time I kicked butt for like 4 rounds and then I think everything broke with the enemies. They were shooting at something off screen and so it was easy mode there, I like the roll to get a new gun. Had a similar concept my team was thinking about, except the bullets would have been dice haha.
All the same I could see this doing really well on armor games or something like that.
