How does your game fit the theme?
We took Einstein's famous quote: God doesn't play with dice and mutated to "God does play with dice". This is a game where the player will impersonate god and can decide the fate of the planet Earth by just rolling two dice.

Did your team create the vast majority of the art during the 48 hours?

No

We used pre-existing art

Did your team create the vast majority of the music during the 48 hours?

Yes

We created the vast majority of the music during the game jam

Interesting and confusing. It seemed very odd that this was a game where you played a chicken wandering around a room where it would be better served with a simple interface where you could more easily watch the earth.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. that's something I will definitively improve. I want to center the planet in the main view so the player can enjoy watching it.

The graphics looked really nice but I didn't really understand the game and also it was really laggy on the browser I wish there was a downloadable version of it

Developer

Hi thanks for playing the game! There was no time to make a tutorial but I have left some instructions in the main page of the game.

I will follow your suggestion an add a download version when the jam is over.

The graphics and sound were relaxing for a game that is about killing a planet :P It was quite comical in that respect.

The gameplay: unfortunately I didn't enjoy it. The crux was a coin toss guessing game - but the unnecessary barriers between rolling and guessing detracted from it (those damn). I would have been happy just to watch the planet burn spectacularly on bad guesses, but it took too long between guesses to make much headway.

Developer

Hi thanks for the feedback. Yes I admit that I wanted to make it a bit comical overall.

The barriers and the impediments to reach the right side of the screen are part of the design. There is a more philosophical meaning behind it. I wanted to show to the player that not even God has an easy life when it comes to just play an apparently easy toss guessing game.

For example the tent/gate are disappearing and appearing for a limited amount of time sometime not even enough to reach the guessing pad.

I hope I didn't frustrate people too much!

well you nailed the gameplay experience of "god has a hard life" so kudos for achieving you goal. This type of game is probably just not for me.

I do wonder if I would have enjoyed it more if I had the illusion of more agency - like being able to reach the dice easier but the dice secretly favouring bad outcomes on the dice (hidden mechanics): or having God have to overcome a non-random challenge on their way to Choose so the player thinks they have more agency than they really do and they can work on improving even if they ultimately are doomed to fail.

Anyway, just my personal musings.

Developer

It's a nice idea and definitively worth to give it a go!

You put a lot of effort into graphics but the gameplay is unnecessarily complicated and frustrated :/

Developer

Hi thanks for the feedback and sorry if I have caused frustration.

I will work a bit more on this concept once the jam is over.

OK, so I revisited the game. It seems to run much better now. I guess it was an internet issue.

So, I'm assuming that you have to guess the outcome of the dice and depending on whether it is above or below six, either something good or bad will happen to the planet.

I don't understand why the teleporter disappears randomly because there is not enough time to get to the place where you have to guess the outcome of the dice without it.

It's a neat idea, but I feel that the concept overstays its welcome. I would suggest making the rules of the game clearer next time. Also, I'm not sure if the game has a win state. I'm assuming that it doesn't because this feels more like a toy then a game.

The player has to guess the sum of two dice, if it is above or below 6.

There is a twist in that...I won't tell anyone but the god chicken is cheating a bit...

Submitted(+1)

OK, that is understandable. I can see why you would want to put philosophical meanings in a game. I respect that. If you want to work on the concept a little bit more, how about instead of using a teleporter that you put some kind of devil chicken (or a fox maybe) that thwarts the chicken god's progress, like maybe slow it down? Would that work?

Developer

Funny and interesting idea :-) I guess I could give it a go!

This game concept is great! The music is really good and quite relaxing! The visuals were also very good! Great work!

Developer

Thank you for your comment, I am very happy that you liked it!

Submitted(+1)

The music and art is really cool and you have a good concept. Great game.

Developer

Thank you for your kind words!

Submitted(+1)

Thats a interesting game. Unfortunately you didnt have time to create a tutorial level. I would like to see improved version ^^

The presentation is great and music is calming which fits with the game very well. Overall, this is a good game. Great work!

Developer

Thank a lot!

Submitted(+1)

Unique approach, well done. The gameplay is confusing at first as I was struggling to get to the other side of the map to guess for the dice , overall good job

Developer

Thank you and thanks for the feedback I will try to improve the player experience once the jam is over!

Cool visual effects, calming music. My luck  was kinda bad though so RIP earth's population.

Developer(+1)

I literally loved your comment :-)

Nice idea. I also used Einstein's famous quote to create mine! I loved the feeling you game creates!

Developer(+1)

I played your game as well, liked the art. I cannot post a review on your channel because I have locked my account. Too many posts with similar wording :-( lesson learned!

Submitted(+1)

The music is so nice, great work!

Developer

Thank you!

Hi the idea is very interesting! unfortunately I couldn't play too much, it seems the frame was partially visible, but perhaps it is my browser.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback I will try adding a download version in the future!

Submitted(+1)

Interesting game! I’ma physics nerd, so gotta respect that Einstein-quote ;)

Developer

:-) Thank you!

The music is great. I love the story of the game and the take on Einstein's quote, even though i dont understand what i am supposed to do.

Hi thanks for the feedback!

It's a god game sand box; The chicken needs to guess if the sum of two dice is above or below 6 (it's intentionally set to 6 and not to the median 7). You can roll the dice by activating a switch then you need to run to the right side of the screen an sit on a pressure pad to guess the number.

If you guess right the planet won't be hurt otherwise the planet would be bombed, population killed and houses destroyed :-)

I saw your game and I thought it was cool, I didn't really know what to do but I thought it was cool.
Hope you improve a lot!

Unfortunately I am having immense trouble playing because it is lagging very badly. If I had to guess, I would say it is because my internet is too slow.

If there were a downloadable version, I probably would have an easier time.

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

Same thing happened to me. I agree that a downloadable version would be beneficial as well...

Developer

I will upload the downloadable version once the jam is over. I don't know if I can before that.

Submitted(+1)

I love the idea of taking that quote and reversing it! this game is kinda like quantum mechanics (except its not physics, and its not quantum)

Developer

Thank you!

Great music, so relaxing

I was a bit confused with the concept of the game, but really funny !

Developer

Thank you!
