Really smart idea! Haven't seen any other golf games in this jame yet. Had a lot of fun with it too. Awesome job!

Developer

Thanks :)

Cool game! It is especially satisfying when you can skip parts of the level with your powerups (looking at you jumpshot)!

Submitted(+1)

I love the fact you integrated a lot of lil tricks you could do if you were lucky enough to get power ups. Definitely would play a whole game like this, amazing job! Also the minimal kinda graphics and the subtle sound effects makes it weirdly charming!

Developer(+1)

Thanks!

I tried my best to give the game some character through the minimalism and sound. I also tried to make some of the messages you get when you complete a hole somewhat funny. They are randomly generated so you might not have seen them.

On hole 5 I launched the die over the wall and down right next to the hole.... was awesome to skip the entire level with a "skill" shot. Very well done game!

Developer

I tried to design a few areas like that. I'm glad you found it

I really love this game (I managed to finish), really clever levels and I love golf, props!

Very polished game and interesting premise. I think the levels could accomodate the mechanics by having more varied layout to strategies depending on the shot you have. Good start - and good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks.

That's something to work on after the jam. I appreciate the feedback!

Very polished and very nice visuals. I loved playing through the whole thing

Positive feedback:

  • Love the little clap reaction!
  • Tons of fun and clever take on the theme!
  • Creative use of the theme, love that the game is a dice rolling.
  • Controls feel good.
  • Impressive amount of content!

Critique:

  • Would have liked more crazy/fun buffs than debuffs.
  • Tend to get the same buffs as the dice rolls along a single axis.

At one point I started working on a wind effect that made the dice blow around in the air, but after a while I had to cut it as it was difficult to get right. I had tons of effect ideas at the start, but I only managed to implement the most basic ones.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback :D

Pretty fun concept! I think if you were to expand on this, some more modifiers would really make this a good time. Maybe you could even have different dice to choose from when making your shot, with different modifiers on each, making it slightly more strategic. Overall good work!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

If I continue with this, I would definitely make it so you could choose different effects for each side of the dice. That way, like you say, there would be a bit more strategy involved.

Really fun ! (mention to the jump shot)

Submitted(+1)

Simple idea but cleverly executed!  Only suggestion I have is the die should have a drop shadow and maybe have camera controls; the lack depth perception is a bit irritating, especially if you want to take advantage of jump shots.

Developer(+1)

Yeah I agree. I don't know why but shadows were disabled for some reason and I couldn't work out how to fix it. Its annoying because the menu scene has proper shadows, but the actual levels don't.

Great twist on good old golf, finished all levels, liked it alot!

I really enjoyed this! I agree with the other comments about more varied effects that aren't necessarily debuffs - the jump modifier being a great example. I'd gladly play a full version of this!

Here i would really want more levels - and maybe more/cooler side effects while you're at it xD

I personally would replace the underpowered attribute as it is just not very fun (maybe something with screenshake/earthquake?).

Definitively a creative use for the dice in any case.

Developer

Thanks.

I would've done more interesting effects if I had time. A lot of them were made just because it was convenient and wouldn't take too long.

makes perfect sense - time management is important!

Interesting take on the theme! I beat it and loved the level design. Nice job!

Fun game!! always went for the jump modifier but luck was not on my side hahaha Awesome work!!

Developer

Yeah the jump is definitely my favourite :)

Unique take on the theme. Very fun and enjoyable! Would play this again whenever I'm bored

Good job <333

Developer

Cheers :)

Now this, this is what I want from a mini-golf game. Audience reactions, confetti, cutesy music; it has it all. 10/10 would jump shot the whole course again.

Submitted(+1)

I really like this! It's simplistic but still feels polished and nice, I love the little confetti, the ball physics and controls are good :) Nice entry!

Submitted(+1)

Love the concept. I would make the die a bit bouncier, so it is easier to go along walls and around corners, but it is otherwise great!
