A fun simple bullet hell experience, I particularly liked the squash and stretch of the main character in direction of movement, gives a nice extra layer of strategy when dodging the attacks. Felt like hitting the dice was a little bit lacking, a bit more ooomph there would go a long way I think, but, the safe zone and movement speed buff of the red zones is a great touch, a nice reward for dodging and getting right up next to danger. All in all nice work!
Thank you! The squash and stretch does not change the player's hitbox.
Try as I might I could not get past 350 for score. Really fun simple bullet hell style. Love the slight panning and the change in speed when close. Would have appreciated like a slow down or pause after killing each die but it was cool how the bullets from the previous round stayed as an obstacle in the next. Good job.
This is an excellently executed bullet-hell. High score of 450, and I am satisfied with that!
The movement compared to the world-space is perfectly balanced between frustrating and powerful (you feel like you have enough movement to survive, but it's a struggle).
I love the burst of speed and immortality caused by the red bubble at the end, very satisfying.
Thank you for your review!
Very fun game, I like this take on the theme, great job!
Thank you for the kind words!
I love me a good bullet hell, this is a gem! Artstyle is simple but goes a long way. I think the overall speed of the game could be adjusted or maybe even tied into the other mechanics. Very well done!
Thanks! I'll be updating the game after the jam ends, so expect new content!
multiplayer mode maybe? wink winkIt's a short, simple, and extremely polished experience. Really creative take on the theme.
Thanks for the feedback!
I like the color scheme a lot and the attack patterns. Neat idea, and could easily be expanded on! Good work!
Thanks! The color pallete I used was the Pico-8 pallete. I'll be updating the game after the jam ends.
Fun game! Nice, clean art and good gameplay. I agree with others that the movement's a little bit too slow, though I really like how you speed up when getting close to the die. Nice work!
Thanks for the feedback! That's the most common complain so far lol.
Really liked the aesthetic on this one. The art was super clean especially the animation on the dice. I suck at bullet hells and they aren't my typical genre but this one got me pretty engaged. Also I always love the opportunity to get to play with a gamepad on a game jam game. Hope it keeps becoming more and more common. Nice job!
Thank you for playing!
Pretty fun game. I liked the squash and stretch on the player square, such a small effect but it goes a long way for game feel!
fun game, feedback is i wish you were faster and had more HP, and maybe make the squash n stretch a bit more subtle
Nice game, unique concept, cool music and beautiful art! All a game needs!
Thanks so much for the nice words!
neat concept! i'm pretty bad at bullet hells, (well, i don't think i ever played one to begin with...) but i managed to get to 300. not sure if that's good, but i think that's good enough for me. the speed is a bit too slow for me (maybe a run function would be nice as mentioned by someone else), and the player going back to the center after colliding with a die did feel a bit confusing for me at first, but i think the game's still pretty cool! that, and the drum breaks were a nice touch too, very tense...
300's pretty good, the highest score so far is: 700. Yea, I'll add a run function if I update the game after the jam.
An amazing bullet hell, personaly I would've loved if the player was a bit faster and more responsive but I don't know if it was a design choice
Also how the screen shifts slightly whenever you move is a bit confusing, again I don't know if it was intentional
But a great and challenging game
Thanks! Yes, the speed and screen shift are intentional.
I guessed that much, but it isnt really a bad thing, just not my forte
Really cool game, the music, and art is good and the actual gameplay side of things is really fun. The only thing I noted when playing was I wished the restarting mechanic was a tad faster - other than that though I really enjoyed it.
Cool take on a bullet hell game! The music is nice. Some of the attack patterns are too hard to escape due to the player block speed. The restarting mechanic could be a bit faster too.
Such a good concept!
Nice and simple game, might have been better if the player is just a little bit faster than the bullets. Other than that, it was fun dodging around all of the bullet patterns.
Congrats on finishing the jam!
Thanks for the feedback! When playtesting, I found it really hard to dodge bullets when in a high speed. If I do update the game after the jam, I'll probably add a run function.
cool game! I don't know if this just me, but the spiral attack is really difficult to get around and I always ended up dying when it happened. Also, movement could be slightly faster, but other than that awesome game. Good luck! :)
Thanks for the feedback! I spent a lot of time trying to get the attacks balanced and fair, turns out I'm just too good at bullet hells! haha. Jokes aside, I really should've added a life system so it's easier for other players.
i love how the main menu is a tutorial!
colors & effects are beautiful.
"dying/killing" is a bit uneventful :D
