I think it's cool that we both did dice based rhythm games! however, I had a pretty difficult time reading the "beat" of the dice. for one, I struggle to look at both the dice and my player character, since they're on opposite sides of the screen. and as far as matching a beat goes, I would rather have audio queues as the primary source of information, with visuals as secondary. and for the visuals, I would expect them to be moving at, or centered around, my character, in sync with the beat. there didn't seem to be a clear feedback for missing a beat / losing a health point besides the tiny label at the bottom going down, so I struggled to get a sense of when I was doing it right or wrong.
hope this feedback helps!
There should be a label or some screen with my highscore, I got over 100 but forgot how much! This is really simple, yet very cool, interesting how in this situation a 6 is actually very bad luck xD Congrats for the good entry!!
Totally agreed – just ran out of time right at the end there! Thanks a lot!
My favorite part of jams is seeing all the ways people interpreted the jam theme differently than I did, and never in a million years would I have come up with a flappy bird-esque rhythm game for the prompt. You have an extremely unique entry, and you executed the idea well : )
Thank you so much, very kind!
Such a simple but fantastic concept! Nice work!
Thanks a lot!
Great idea! I'd love to see it polished up!
Bless you – thanks!
Nice mechanics!
Thank you!
This game is very nice and has a great and simple concept. Well done!
Thanks!
This is a nice simple game but the main mechanics were kinda confusing at first until I got the hang of them and the game started being fun and challenging.
Overall great addition to game jam!
Thank you very much!
I didn't really understand the rhythm element and the dice and ended up just jumping for the dots, maybe something more predictable with music or just put the dice on the left would be the solution? Also It is not super clear that I have to hit the dots, I was bout to give up when I read the comments to figure it out and try again and had fun.
Overall a creative entry to the jam in a style that I haven't seen yet, good job!
Yeah, totally agreed that it needs some tuning. Oh well! Thanks for the feedback!
Super creative. Never played a flappy bird game where you are suppose to run into stuff. Very good use of theme. Would love to see this expanded some cool music and different modes. Good job.
Thank you!
Really cool concept! But the rythm aspect of it was too hard to follow and at first i thought i had to avoid the dots. With a bit more work this game could be really fun!
Thank you!
A fun little game with a very creative concept. Simplistic minimal art which I quite like and it fits the game quite well. The whole rhythm thing was quite hard to follow so I just aimed for the dots rather than fully relying on the beat. Still a fun quick jam game. You done really well. Good luck on the jam!
Thanks a lot!
Cool idea but the rhythm aspect was a little hard to follow, I ended up just jumping for the dots.
Agreed, the rhythm element could definitely use some tuning. Thanks for the feedback!
Reached score 290, didn't really played it like rhythm game more like flappy bird :D, but still cool idea!
Glad you liked it!
Love the rhythm concept! Could definitely use a couple more visual cues for the rhythm timing (maybe like a ring that closes in on the player). Great job!
Love the idea of a ring – thanks for the feedback!
Thank you! I wish I had time to fix up the rhythm and sound design, but hey ho!
