Wow, what an amazing game! I had a lot of fun playing, and it never got boring. The upgrades system is really cool and strategizing with the dice you're given really forces you to think! The only thing I would suggest is to maybe add a sort of pity system since I did run into some times where I'd get only 2 or 3 dice multiple times in a row with the +dice upgrade fully upgraded, which felt kind of frustrating. Overall though I had a lot of fun. Nice job!

Developer

Happy to see that you enjoyed my game! I think the pity system could be a good idea. One of the previous comments said something about having a minimum dice upgrade. This may also solve the trouble you were having.

I'm surprised that you managed to put in a tutorial, though it's overcomplicated quite a bit.

The gameplay feels pretty good, but (in my opinion) your success relies too heavily on RNG.

I never could really use the shop, because I'd take too much damage to actually use whatever I purchased.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and rating my game! Balancing is quite a problem which I didn't have the time to properly fix and I do agree that the tutorial is bit to complicated for an overall simplistic game.

this game on the mobile platform, it will be very good

Developer(+1)

Thx for playing! Found out you can also play on mobile but the tutorial text is kinda wonky.

Really liked the game ! The strategic part is fun and it is somehow really well balanced

Submitted(+1)

Yes!!! This is awesome! I got super hooked by this game and love the strategy element within. The only thing that kind of bothered me was that when I defeated an enemy, my remaining die would be lost :(  So, whenever I was close to defeating them, I had to remember to do other stuff before dealing the final blow. So a between-enemies step would help with that. But top marks!

Developer(+1)

Always a pleasure to see people enjoy the strategy! That's an interesting suggestion for having a step after killing the enemy which would solve some problems my game has. Thx for the constructive feedback.

Ohh I love the music and the concept of the game. 💃🎶

Thx for playing for liking my game :)

Really well scoped and executed, perfect type of game for a jam! The extra dice in the shop are super op tho :D

Developer(+1)

Thx for playing. The main issue that you pointed out is the balancing which I didn't really had the time to tweak and fix. Happy that you enjoyed my game.

I really liked that you could pick up the mechanics of this quite intuitively – I have to admit I skipped the tutorial, and it still only took a couple of minutes before I hit that sweet "hey, look at all the gameplay nuances here!" moment. Nice stuff, a great spin on resource management!

Developer

Nice to see you like the gameplay mechanics. Gameplay is simple and the tutorial now looking at it again after submitting looks a bit too complicated. I'll make sure to try to improve my tutorials and such in later jams.

Good Game! I enjoyed playing it! I think for the tutorial there was a bit to much text but apart form that I liked it!

Developer

Happy that you enjoyed it. Now looking at it again, I do agree with you there. Maybe I should of made the tutorial more interactive or maybe just simplifying it.

The game was pretty fun to play and I liked how it used strategy, but maybe you can put graphics to represent the player and the enemy.

Developer

Thx for playing and enjoying my game! Sadly, I didn't have enough time to add graphics for the sides and I'm quite bad at art so I didn't want to make it too complicated but it's nice to hear that you liked the strategy.

First 5 star for enjoyment. The game feels really nice to play, but isn't really original (a lot like dicey dungeons). Other than that, great game!

Developer

Thx for the 5 stars. Sad to know that my game idea wasn't that original but originality is hard to come by anyway so I'm fine with that. Really nice to see you still found enjoyment in it.

I liked the game and it definitely have a lot of potential.
The core mechanics are solid, trying to survive the enemy attacks while also trying to farm dice money for upgrades, gives it a really fun balancing act in terms of strategy.

Congrats on finishing the jam !

Thank you for playing my game and it's a pleasure to see that you like the strategy.

Defeating opponents should give some reward. Otherwise, I see no reason to kill the first one and expose myself to the harder enemies. But the look and feel of the game are great.

Developer (2 edits) (+2)

That is true. There's nothing stopping you from farming the first enemy for saving up money which I feel like is one of the main problems for my game. A reward system for defeating an enemy would be nice and I think an idea is to only be able to buy upgrades after you defeat the enemy would be the award rather than being able to buy upgrades at any time. It makes the player unable to farm because they are at risk of dying if they do. It's still a pleasure to see that you enjoyed the feel of my game.

Edit: Another idea will be to give the player some money every time you defeat an opponent and to make the cost for upgrade higher so defeating enemies is the only option for getting high upgrades.  Always appreciate the constructive criticism.

I actually enjoyed it a lot! Was a bit confusing at first i was randomly pressing stuff to see what happens... but as time went on I got the hang of it and stated to enjoy it! GJ

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for the kind words. I did fear that people may feel overwhelmed at first since even though the  rules are simple, it just throws everything at you. It's great that you overcame that and still enjoyed it!

Loved it!

This is actually pretty solid gameplay, I like it, good job !

Developer

Thx :)

Nice game, as said by No whOne, it seemed a bit underwhelming at first, but got better over time. Good job :)

Developer

Much appreciated :)

Honestly, surprisingly fun! The game looked a bit underwhelming at first, but the more I play it, the more I enjoyed it... up to the point where it was rng. Though the game became unfun after finding the best "strategy", it was still really fun to try and find it, or play through it like a normal person, which is quite impressive to pull off in this limited time frame, and I expected nothing more to it than a quick and simple little jam game. Simple pixel graphics and music fit well together and gives it the nice sort of feel to it. Overall very well done, good job!

Edit: I got 31 btw

Developer

Really appreciate your thoughts and it's true that there is a "strategy" that makes it quite easy. Maybe adding more mechanics like special dice will broaden the different strategies you could use. It's true that the purpose of the game was to be a simple little game for a jam and it's nice that you noticed it.

Submitted(+1)

Nice submission! Got to 29, could probably go quite a bit higher.

Great concept, but it feels like the game is missing a little something. There's nothing stopping you from farming the first enemy for tons of money to equip you for your journey. Also the dice don't do anything special aside from being their face values, so the combat gets pretty formulaic. Something like combos/doubles/triples or enhancement dice could really spice up the game.

And it feels really bad to roll a single dice when the max is so high (I rolled a single dice that landed on 1 twice in a row with 8 max dice). Maybe an upgradable minimum dice amount would be nice?

Fantastic work for a game jam though. I played for quite a while :)

Developer(+1)

Thx a lot! The constructive criticism was also very good. The farming at the beginning was something I was worried about but sadly I didn't have enough time to fix it. Maybe allowing you to go to shop once you defeat the enemy or something like that would of been good but it's nice you still enjoyed it. The combos and special dice was also in my to do list but I felt like the scope was too high for the time limit we had was a bit too low to implement. Minimum dice is also quite an interesting idea too.
