I liked the concept, it ran slow for me and I couldn't seem to bring up the menu to change the processing

Love this game, the presentation is amazing!!

Simple but very creative idea!

This is a really clever idea and I had a lot of fun with it! I think there were a good amount of levels and they were appropriately challenging. I am also a fan of the sound effects and visuals. Really nice work! If I were to change anything, music a restart key would be good, but I realize those have already been mentioned. Knowing in advance that all opposing sides of a die add up to seven was really helpful and made the puzzles more enjoyable. Possibly, informing players who aren't familiar with that detail could help more people enjoy your game. 😁

Clever take on the "rolling a dice around" mechanic that a lot of these games seem to have—this one might be my favorite. Also great thocky sound choice and nice visuals.

At least it looks great!

Beautiful graphics, it's really satisfying to paint the dice and the problem solving is a lot of fun! Awesome job!

Lovely little puzzler, though it would be nice to have a "restart from beginning" option (or did I miss something?)

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks, and nope, but I actually wrote the restarting code, I just simply forgot to add the key binding!

I’ll try to remember next time I do a puzzler :)

Cool game! :) awesome

Great presentation! It's very simple, clean, and beautiful. I really like it.

Maybe a bit of background music/white noise + reset level button would improve the player's experience! (I had to hit "u" so many times once I realized that I made mistakes)

Nice design, works wel and clean and solid presentation.

Excellent concept! I've played about a dozen "roll the dice around" games from this jam, but this one alone stands out for having a unique concept. The way the levels are designed provides some interesting and surprisingly intuitive puzzles. Only wish it was longer!

Wow! This is very impressive! It reminds me of ‘English Country Tune’ in a good way. The concept is at once easy to grasp, yet creative, and it’s executed on (and presented) flawlessly. ( Well, the word ‘Theme’ is cut off on the ending screen with the 6x9-pips dice, at least in the online version :-p but I point that out just to show how small the only issue I found with it is.)

It does rely on awareness of the fact that dice’s opposing sides always add up to 7 (and one more than the maximum for most non 6 sided dice as well – though only 6-siders are used in game). This doesn’t seem to be indicated anywhere … fortunately, the fix for that is easy, just add it to the game-page!

Hi, thanks for the kind words!

Actually, that was one of the really hard design decisions. I originally designed the levels so that the opposing sides had to add to 7, but in the end I relaxed the requirement as I thought it would be too hard to explain. So you can arrange the faces in whatever way you want.

In retrospect, I should probably just have given an award/achievement if all your dice were correct, and a challenge prompt if you completed with slightly weird layouts.

Submitted (1 edit) (+2)

I had no idea about opposite sides adding up to 7, or that you could arrange them however you want in the game. I just looked at the piled-up dice and replicated their arrangement. I think having a special achievement for the correct layouts is a great idea.

man this looks very beautiful with the blur! there is no win screen right? cause i made a dice with all the six numbers and nothing happened. Nice work!!

Developer

Thanks! There is a win screen, though… sure you didn’t mess anything up, or have some weird looking sides? That is, you can’t make a three like this:

---
X X
X

---

Or maybe I have a bug I don’t know about?

seems i was indeed doing something wrong.. and there are more levels!!

Very pleasant and clean presentation. That's definitely the best part about it. Pretty solid ~4/5. Cheers!

This was very meditating to play. The graphics and scenery looked very nice and your concept was a great idea.

Super creative concept and idea. Very nice presentation ! I'm not gonna lie, i misprinted some dice on purpose just to see what I could do. :) It could lead to some great puzzle designs. Maybe add a R to restart and level menu and we're good !

Interesting idea !

amazing graphics, but had a hard time figuring out what to do. nice project still, would love to see it worked on after the jam. add a tutorial, maybe don't add so much blurring to the area. otherwise, player movement felt good, design is amazing, and it's very impressive.

Developer

Thanks!

You’re supposed to make a “normal looking” dice by “stamping” the various patterns that you find lying around on the ground.

That’s very valuable feedback, though. I always feel like it’s a fine balance between over-explaining/hand-holding (and spoiling the fun for some people) and having people get stuck. Also, I guess my single playtester this jam knows my brain well too well at this point :P

Probably a better “tutorial” would just be more easy levels at the start, and then timed hints, or hints that trigger on certain mistakes.

I’ll add a short explanation to the description so people are less confused!

Awesome graphics and visual options to run make it smoother on browser,
such a clever puzzle! I did something similar but not as creative as yours :)
