Loved everything about it, seems very graph theory based :)

Really cute art!

Fantastic visuals with a strong art direction! It's just about fully RNG, but there's a bit of strategy involved with the upgrades and who you're targetting. Good entry!

Very, very strong presentation and a pretty neat concept. But, I couldn't really get behind the actual gameplay. It suffers from a recurring theme for this jam of the games being TOO luck based.

Really cool concept. With only three lives, I think D4 is a bit small to start with because it leads to a lot of ties and that reduces the importance of the actually-rolled value.

Developer

Ah,  you make a very valid point!

Probably the best cowboy bean dice rolling simulator out there. Very short and sweet. If you update the game post jam, some hotkeys for selecting your guns would be a nice QoL feature.

Good job on this dev :)

Super great idea for the game jam, and just perfectly executed. I only wish there were more levels. You hid the nail on the head with this entry!

Loved it! Really neat little game. Great music track, too!

Nice job on making this in just 48 hours!

This is the perfect little jam game. Small scope, great execution. Well done!

It was a bit confusing trying to figure out which die meant what though. The exact rules and reasons that we're rolling dice was unclear. Do higher numbers cancel shots coming at you? or do more damage? I wasn't sure.

Still a cool game. Well done and nice use of art and music!

Higher rolls mean you get to shoot first. If you roll higher than someone aiming at you, you can potentially kill them before they even get their shot off, saving your own neck (dead folks can't shoot). That's the idea, anyway.

Thanks for playing!

The concept is good and it perfectly fits the topic of this Jam! Control is smooth and the game is really immersive!

Such a good job!

I won my first few games pretty easily, and began to wonder if it was rigged so nobody shot at you in the first round... Then I suffered a first round defeat that totally dispelled that notion! And then I only won occasionally, but I throughly enjoyed my time with this game.

Problems I encountered included not realising which one I was at first. I know it's the one with the star, but even when I knew that the way it starts with a random position and colour each time was confusing me often. The other problem was that the shooting-first thing makes very little difference unless the person about to shoot is pretty close to you. The slower person typically still gets time to shoot, and the bullets pass each other while travelling. I realise this is probably an attempt to introduce a bit of subtle tactics into the mix, but I think overall it just reduces the reliance in the dice to determine the outcome.

Only other thing was the UI could use a little work - it's kind of a pain to click "aim left", then the target, then "aim right" then another target, then "start round". And you don't get to see where you're aiming like you can with the other players. Minor niggles don't spoil this for me though.

Congratulations for creating a unique game under the immense pressure of a game jam. No easy feat!

Thanks for the in-depth feedback! You are 100% on the mark with a lot of these pain points. Some of them were oversights on my part, but most of them were "it'll have to do"'s while rushing to finish on time. I'm collecting all these great points to address should I continue the game further.

I totally get the standard "not enough time" argument

Really cool idea! sadly in a lot of my runs, I was left with no option other than dying no matter what options I picked, but other than that I really enjoyed it!

(p.s, I would appreciate it if you could try out my game, It's really short and takes only a moment to play, thanks!)

Agreeable music and fun concept !

Nice short game !

cool concept, it took me a while to grasp. I like the feeling of being able to upgrade my dice, but I keep dying a lot in the first battles.
