Super interesting take on the theme! I only wish there was more!!

Thank you!

Interesting game! The graphics are nice, but it's kind of tricky!

Developer

Thanks for playing!  Had there been time for some playtesting and iteration I'm pretty I would've ended up toning down the speed of at least the aim meter.

Too bad it doesn't have more levels ;-; Very interesting take on the theme nonetheless and great execution!

Developer

Thank you! It's unfortunate that I was too slow to get more than the one level done (and just barely), but it just means I'll have to be more vigilant next time!

Submitted(+1)

this was a pretty funny take on the theme, plays surprisingly well and the dice feels far more controllable and less gimmicky than traditional golf games

Developer

Thank you!

Love this!! I wish it had more levels :D

Developer

Thank you! I definitely wish I had enough time for more levels, haha.

Pretty fun to play even though I'm not that great at it haha. Got 59 points on my first play. Not too proud of that. Great submission and very cool concept!

Developer

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you liked it!

Very cool concept and great execution! you could actually keep working on this :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I think the core gimmick turned out pretty fun, so I might work on it some more in the future.

Nice idea about the golf, very unique.

The power / accuracy bar is very laggy and it's hard to pull off the shoot you wanted to.

Graphics could be improved.

The concept was quite original though. Well done.

Developer

Thank you!

Great game, it's very creative.

The art is simple but looks good. The sound effects really help seal the whole outside golfing theme.

I didn't expect to see a golfing game in a game jam but you pulled it off perfectly.

Developer

Thank you! I agree, material sfx and foley do a lot to subtly sell the feeling of actually being somewhere (far more than my green/brown checkerboard materials do, at least!)

I like the idea of this. Honestly, I'm a fan of golf minigames so a little bias may show -- good and bad. I like it because it is a nice twist to usual golf. The game's mechanic of "stop the ball when you want" alongside the slowing of time allows varying degrees of difficulty manipulation per player. The die adding points to your final score is neat as well, encouraging players to use the above functions to their advantage so that they take the least amount of shots to avoid the extra points added to the final score. I find it very creative on your part. The only thing that I didn't like was the lack of a feedback/directional line to start the swing. But, it's not necessarily needed due to the potential deviation offset so I got over it and it didn't affect my rating. It'd be nice to have in theory but I can also see a counterargument for it. Good job.

+ in a way, not providing a line forces the player to 'take a chance' on themselves. If that was intentional, big brain play.

Developer(+1)

that sounds better than "I ran out of time," so let's go with that

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you liked the main gimmick. There's lots of small things I would've implemented if I had the time, and a guiding line while aiming is definitely one of them.

Amazing game! Would love to see this developed further. Though I do not under stand how the point system work. when the ball went into the flag it bounced off. though Really good stuff!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing!  The roll determines the "cost" of the shot (in normal golf, each shot "costs" 1 stroke).  So the goal is to consistently roll low.

Ok. Thank you

Amazing game! Would love to see this developed further. The number of actions required to take a shot is a lot, but this game clearly shows the purpose of each of these actions. Really good stuff!

Developer

Thank you! I was honestly a bit torn on even including the aim-meter mechanic, since I didn't know whether the game would be hard enough without it at the time I was adding it.  If I were to simplify the shot process I'd probably start there and just increase the level complexity (and quantity...).

Love this game! My family and I took turns to try and get the best score, we all had loads of fun! :)

Developer

Thank you to you and your family for playing!  I'm glad you all liked it!

Nice concept! The idea of stopping the dice at the right moment to score less is definitely neat!. I just really dont like the curve meter, it makes it painful to aim and is super unforgiving, especially because of the heavy input lag.

Anyway, congrats on submitting!

Thanks for playing!  If you don't mind me asking, what browser/device/OS are you playing on?  Web builds are super convenient for getting the game playable for as many people as possible, but there's a lot of inconsistency in how it performs on different browsers and devices.

I was playing on chrome on a windows laptop. the game seemed to be running fine

Very fun little game, being able to stop the ball at any point (at a potential cost) is a really fun mechanic. Really wish there were more levels, but otherwise, very well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! It's actually criminal how little time I spent on level design.  I'll have to manage my time better next time around, because the rush on level design definitely hurt this project imo.

Submitted(+1)

This was so much fun! I hope you guys come back and add some more levels after the jam. My only critique is that the visibility of the ball can get obscured if you're a little too close to the wall. But otherwise I would happily play this game with more levels. It would make a fun mobile game, I think. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing!  I agree that more levels would be a big boon, as well as some solution for walls (even if it's just lowering them and creating an out-of-bounds mechanic).  Also, you raise a good point about this being a good fit for mobile!

Submitted(+1)

Incredibly Creative using the dice as a golf ball. But, The game is a bit too short and the camera sometimes doesn't let you see the die while you are trying to aim.

Developer

Thank you! There's a handful of things I definitely would've done if there had been more time, and more levels + a solution for walls obscuring vision are two of them.

Submitted(+1)

Really cool idea, and very well executed. Only slight complain is that the left/right bar moves a bit too quickly for me, about 60% of my hits were when i was right next to the hole but just couldnt line it up perfectly. Perhaps an easy mode for players like myself might have helped. Either way, this is definitely one of my favourites so far!

Developer(+1)

Ahh, yeah that's a really fair criticism.  Even over the course of just a 2-day jam, it's tough to tune difficulty for new players when I'm unavoidably going to be too good at my own game.  Regardless, thanks for playing!  I'm glad you liked it!

Submitted(+1)

This game is very cool to pass the time. Slight issue with avatar visibility when going behind a wall, but nothing major. I would have liked more levels to make long moment of fun.
I love it <3

Our game (with my team)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words!  I definitely would've wanted to do something more elegant with the walls, but in the end all I had time to do was shorten them so they wouldn't completely obstruct visibility.

Submitted(+1)

I like this one! It's fun to bounce the ball off a wall, then turn it into a die at just the right moment to stop it so your next shot is perfectly lined up. I played a couple of rounds and my high score right now is 5. I wonder if I can get even lower? I wish there were more courses, but that's just how game jams go.

Developer

I'm glad you liked it!  I agree with you, I also wish I had time for more courses.  It's honestly shocking to me that the ramp even works given how little time I had left when I finally got around the designing the level, haha.
