Game felt nice! Good controls and I really like that trailing effect on the player sprite. Nice touch! I'm going to have to figure out where the *bang* sound effect is coming from, so I'll be playing it again in a bit. Great work on the game!
Loved the platforming controls, just found the game quite easy since it take too long for the fire to reach you. Would be cool to have a bit more space between the platforms cuz i kept hitting my head and falling while trying to jump from some of 'em to the others. Otherwise really solid ^^
The artwork is incredible! Wonderful mix of old school vibes as well as the main character could be the cousin of sans and papyrus from Undertale! Really charming artwork and visuals. I loved being able to see the trail of my self whenever I would jump across. Challenging game for sure, but engaging as well so it makes you want to continue playing it! Nice work!
Very good-looking game, and pretty challenging platformer! I don't have a problem with the character sliding on everything like on ice, but it was really irritating on the top of the level, where you had those pinpoint jumps and camera moved so that you could not see if you where falling on platforms. It also lacks music. I've however had a lot of fun with this game, some solid platform gameplay you got there :)
Smooth and responsive platformer. Double jump felt a bit weak and the level seemed quite wide for the purpose of escaping the fire upwards. Other than that it's a cool prototype.
The sfx gives great atmoshphere to the game. I liked the simple look of the game, it feels nice, and clean.
The camera movement and the player animations felt smooth.
I got to the end! I liked how there were multiple routes through the level, although I'd agree with others that the movement felt a bit slippery. Also, if you're using artwork from elsewhere (I think this is from Heartbeast's 2D platformer), it's generally good to reference / link where it came from, to give credit to whoever created it :)
Hi! Yes. I posted this game attempt with the time limit very close and did not put any reference in the description. Now I'm going to fix that.
Yes. This prototype has many shortcomings because I did not measure its scope well. But, with the experience gained, the next game will be better! :).
For a gamejam it is best to think of a couple of simple and repetitive rules. Instead of trying to do many levels.
The sounds of my footsteps and the bang resonating in the background was really anxiogenic
I love this sprite, and the shrinking red trail effects on the player is pretty cool, and the player moves well. I like that when the fire reaches you you don't immediately die, but you can use it as a platform. Cool start!
Thanks! It would be necessary to add some animation of damage to the character. And correct the jump animation that does not change direction to the left xD.
Great! The movement is nice but it feels a bit too slippery. And that bang is way too loud lol! But nice overall :)
I was just walking around, chilling, and then whaaat flames!? I got surprised haha
Yes! I wanted it to be lava but I didn't find any sprite of that class : P
Nice game boi but I dod'nt know what was my agenda so i was just walking around and i won the game
Haha. Originally, the game was going to have more stuff and it would be more organized with the map. But I had little time. So at last I just wanted to finish to present something on time.
For the next one, I will limit the scope of the game of the next gamejam! : D
The controls could use a little tightening as to stop the sliding being so uncontrollable, otherwise theyre really well done. Art is super cute too. One thing I would have t o say is that I think it'd be better to have the player spawn closer to the action.
The fire was going to be secondary. Something like force up while fighting some enemies along the way. But in the end the only threat is fire xD. So it makes sense to position the player in the lowest part of the map. Maybe make the fire rise faster hehe.
I really like it!
The controller are very responsible and the art design are awsome!
Thanks!
I really like the art direction for this game! The animations on the main character are really smooth too! :D
I hope you like this game prototype!
