Wow, very original game idea! Satisfying when you figure out a working approach for each level and the undo-keys were very much appreciated (though you might want to consider adding a plus sign between the ctrl and z button images since I originally thought I could use either one but it only worked when I pressed them at the same time). I liked the page flip animation and the overall retro word processor look and feel was a really interesting aesthetic.
Very cool! I couldn't get the undo button to work in the HTML5 version, so I couldn't play through the whole thing, but I did enjoy what I did play!
Very interesting concept, excellent execution, love the music.
The first level was confusing, I thought it was a text box and I need it to add type or click the yes box :p
But when the letters started moving it was really awesome, well done.
Very smart puzzle game and very nice ascii art! Really enjoyed it.
Whoaa, that was very clever! Loved it!
A very nice idea! The puzzles are very well thought out for a game jam. Nice work!
What a great entry! I love puzzle games, so right up my alley. My only complaint is that I want more :P Well done!
The mac version doesn't seem to work?
We don't have a Mac to test on, unfortunately :/
If you have export settings recommendations I can try to fix it!
I just figured out our mistake with HTML5 export so you can try that! (it is slower in browser unfortunately)
This was awesome! I don't think I've ever seen a snake puzzler before hahaha Very cool, simple puzzles. The only thing I had was that once I got the first or second puzzle, they were all pretty easy and straightforward. Great job though!
Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it! Agreed, I wish we had a little more time to spend on coming up with a larger set of puzzles to choose from - which would have made creating a more clear difficulty progression. I definitely underestimated the amount of time it would take overall, so we didn't leave enough time to really flush out some more interesting puzzle dynamics.
No don't worry about it! You did amazing considering the time given.
Great puzzle. I would play this much more with continuing puzzles but I can't figure out the "n" for "dead end" I'd love to see a level code or save function especially if this was to be more and more puzzles. Definitely continue to expand this!!!
Sorry about that! I've updated it to fix that over site! Thanks for playing!
We had a loader that just read a CSV file for the level layout, which saved us time building levels!
No sorries needed. It's a great game, more of a heads up. Thanks for updating!
This is a really cool puzzler that I definitely had to stop and think several times to be able to progress. The only thing I can think to critique is that I wish it were longer and that idk if I'm dumb or what, but I can't find the 'n' for the 'Dead End' answer. So maybe it is longer and I just can't figure it out.
Thanks for playing! I just fixed that mistake, sorry about that. The last level is totally worth it if you want to play again!
I'll check it out, thanks.
I love this a lot. Like straight up, not much to say, excellent concept and very well executed!!!!
Only thing I found a bit annoying was when I screwed up and did the letters in the wrong order and had to go back aaaages to fix it. And I think past a certain point, it does start to become tedious.
Thanks for the feedback and the kind words! This was a first jam for both of us, so we were just glad to get something finished! Was a little worried we had spent too much time on ideation and wouldn’t actually get it done - but we finished it up just in time!
I agree, while the undo mechanic is nice (and took a fair amount of effort to get working), it could definitely be tedious when it takes so long after making a correction.
