Hey! Awesome entry, I had a lot of fun! All 4 mini-games were very different and each enjoyable, and didn't feel too repetitive. (The meta programming was a nice touch.) Plus the time management, also great.

The first few tries were very difficult: I starved to death trying to grab a slice of pizza, my spouse left me multiple times, etc... But after each attempt I really felt like I was improving and getting better, and finally managed to finish it, and it felt really satisfying. So while I agree with other comments that it was difficult, I think it was worth it in the end.

I think some things could be slightly improved for comfort. For the fridge-plateformer for example, you could have the jump height scale by the time the space bar is pressed (nothing too complicated), and some other small tweaks to give it a better game-feel. I also had problem placing pizza in my plate, I very often drop it on the floor instead (and once starved to death next to the table picking it up and dropping it again). Maybe the table's hit-box could be slightly bigger?

So as I said at the beginning: Awsome game!

Hi, I spent on this game more time then ever in this jam. It's cool but I noticed some really annoying bugs.

  • He is toooooooooo fast maybe add little bit acceleration but reduce speed
  • Some walls have no collisions
  • You can exit the house by the door (there would be nothing but godot's empty screen)

GAME IS AWESOME, but it need a LOOOOOOT of SKILLLL to be played. (maybe it's because  I haven't watched the trailer)

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback!

We really wish we had made the game easier :'( The player is also probably a bit too fast. Even I had issues sometimes going through doorways because of how fast they move haha. Lessons learned for the next jam!

We used Godot's TileMap to do the house walls and there are a few tiles that don't have the correct collision shape so you can escape your family and run away... <.< The front door was actually on purpose because we wanted some chores to be outside like mowing the lawn and taking out the trash. Alas, we had way more ideas than time to implement them!

It's fun and i like the various minigames to represent some of the non gamedev time actions XD

and the best part the totally realistic big 2 red button keyboard !  because that's actually how we all did it :p (joke aside it's a nice touch to have some GDscript on the screen )

Well done overall :)

Developer

Wait... your keyboard has more than two buttons?! Maybe I should upgrade ;-)

Thanks for checking out the game!

Love it, the art and music do well together and the mini-games are super fun. I wish it was a bit easier so I could play more in one session, it's pretty hard to keep up with everything!

Really well polished game. I love the graphics and your game play ideas.

A bit difficult for me though haha.

Good work! :)

That's a really well-made game. So polished graphics and this mini-games. Wow. Super cool.
Great, great job. The best game I played this jam so far.
Unfortunately, I didn't manage to pass it. Tried 5 times

Developer

Wow, thanks for the kind comment and for playing 5 times! Unfortunately, we ended up making the game a bit more difficult than intended. I think I'll try to get some early play testers next time for this very reason.

I couldn't work out how to change the baby! Needless to say, probably for the best that I don't have children! The game looks great! I'll give it another go at some point, I'll defeat that damn baby!
Nice Job!

Developer(+1)

In the baby room, there is a diaper changing table where you can change the baby's diaper. Once complete, a dirty diaper will appear on the floor that you can throw away.

Other people also had trouble determining where to change the diaper! Unfortunately, the trash can mini game is confusing because it always shows a dirty diaper as if that's what you are always throwing away. But, the reality is that whatever you are holding is what you throw away. So if you took the baby to the trash can... you actually tried to throw out the baby :P We just ran out of time to make the mini games better :(

Thanks for playing!

I can throw out the baby? Where do I sign up? :-p

Haha this was an extremely good entry! Difficult but also does a very good job of capturing the hecticness of game jams! Great mini-games too! Such an interesting concept and a lot of fun... Except for that poop monster! XD Great work you guys!

Developer

Haha, glad you enjoyed it even with the poop monster ;)

Great game! Great premise, something we can all related to :)

Here is my best effort so far..

Actually typing GDScript is a beautiful idea, well done. Is it actual code from the game? Looks like it could be.

My partner also really enjoyed this one, so thanks!

Developer

I'm so glad you both enjoyed it! The code you type in the computer mini game is indeed the actual source code for the the game! We had a ton of fun making it be very meta. Games within games!

That's a pretty decent score. It looks like you probably made it close to beating the game! It was really hard to judge the difficulty of the game as the creator, so it ended up being a bit too hard I think :/

Thanks for playing!

I think you've got the curve pretty right. I've not played this style of game much so I was overwhelmed at the beginning with everything I was supposed to look after, then finding where those things were, then understanding how they were represented on the GUI... but after getting all that it's fun to play through.

Sometimes I make a mistake and get the baby stuck in the bin! (and couldn't figure out how to restart).

I'll definitely come back and try to finish the game. :)

Excellent work! I really like it. I panicked several times, the baby is a poop machine XD

LOL fun game! I played it a few times, love the graphics, gameplay and sound! The fridge was a fun place to visit. I loved the mini-games, what a pleasant surprise! Well done!!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed the mini games!

So, so true. :-) This is a really great one! Fantastic premise, the feeling is so hectic and stressful, I think it definitely captures the feeling of a game jam. Great job getting all the different mini-games in there. 5/5 from me!

Pretty impressive. Unique idea, different minigames. Great game!

I take back the comment about sound. apparently one of the games killed my sound and I did play some games before I noticed it was my computer and not the game missing sound.

Lol ! So relatable ;D Cool game !

Everything I did, I was surprised and delighted. The mini-games were such a cool addition. The animations were fluid and the game had lots of character. Great job!

Developer

Aww, thank you so much for the kind words! It really makes us smile to see people playing it and saying they were delighted.
