Really liked this game, at first I was kind of confused on how to control it (or maybe because I didn't read the instruction). But all in all really well executed

Developer

Thanks for playing! I couldn't provide proper instructions in-game in time so I just put them in the game description :)

Look at the style, look at the grace,
GET SHOTGUNNED IN THE FACE!

This one is a top contender! The ice skating movement is completely on point, and looks great to the point of becoming its own distraction!

Don't dash into a wall, you will get stuck and gameover that way.

If you feel you're too good for the 50% increase in movement speed and headlight distance, well you're a better player than I, but there is a point where you will simply gameover anyway.

Very well done, especially as a solo dev. You've crafted an experience that is both difficult and enjoyable, and that's something to be proud of.

Developer

Thank you ^^

Amazing game : the headlight is nice, the ice-skating is awesome, visuals are beautiful, and the gameplay feels very satisfying. Great job on this game.

Developer

Thank you so much!

I liked the smooth movement! The graphics were great and I liked the sound effects and music. It took some time to get the hang of the controls, but the tight feedback from the graphics and sound effects were helpful in figuring out what was happening.

Developer

Thank you!

I wasn't a big fan of the controls to be honest but the graphics and sound were both pretty great. Nicely done!

Developer

Thanks for playing! What do you not like about the controls?

Submitted(+1)

I found them a little unwieldy when paired with bullet hell mechanics. I think it would feel a bit more like I'm in control of the character if I could easily make small position adjustments. The ice skating was visually very impressive though. It definitely looks very smooth but feels weird when you're frantically clicking trying to dodge snowballs. Could just be a skill issue tho :P

Developer(+1)

Oh! I tried to replicate the style of MOBA games like League of Legends and DOTA where you repeatedly right-click to make any adjustment to your character. I can see how non-moba players will struggle at first, thanks for the heads-up!

Submitted

Yup I definitely do NOT come from a moba background lmao. I played your game a little bit more and I think the main area where I struggle is that the direction of your attack is completely tied to the direction of movement. I'm not sure if that's exactly how mobas work but I would personally find it easier to control movement with WASD and aiming with the mouse.

This is cool! The graphics are great and the slide is smooth and cool! I didn't like the fact that I needed to repeatedly press to move and would prefer it if I could hold the mouse button to move! That would be so much better imo.

Other than that, I couldn't understand how to open a chest? I reached the room and pressed E but nothing seemed to happen. Then I tried spacebar... and well... You know what happened next lol.

My silly brain did that 3 Times T_T

Edit: I refreshed the page and it's working now. Giving it another go!

Developer

Thank you for feedback!

Did you reach the Chest Open limit? The limit only allows up to three chests.

Submitted

No, that was the first chest I tried to open :\

The movement and skating effect is really impressive! Solid graphics too.

Developer

Thanks!

I like the gameplay! Nice music too. I didn't see my health at first since it kinda blends in. Also when there are two snow kings it would be nice if the little ones are color coded so the player knows which one belong to which king. Really unique idea though.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Glad you liked it

Looks very polished, and the controls are fun once you get the hang of it.

Really beautiful way of moving the robot, i love the tracks that the robot leave behind, couldn't figure if the ware draw lines or particles but they were an excellent detail. Didn't understand a bit the ilumination, how thats work, but everithing else is perfect.

Developer(+1)

The trails are actually two Line2Ds for each foot! Also, I'm not sure what do you mean by how the illumination works, do you mean how the game fits into the theme? Thanks for playing, btw!

Submitted(+1)

Clever way to get that around, yes i did want to mean the theme. but, more intriguing is how did you make the robot make that curve trajectory?

Developer(+1)

Oh well the illumination part is showcased through the character's "headlight," in which it serves as the character's beacon and weapon, since the light beam itself melts/vaporizes enemies.

As for the curvy movement, it was actually surprisingly simple! The game linearly interpolates the character's direction towards the target direction (mouse click) at a rate controlled by a turn_speed.

var new_direction: Vector2 = (target - player.global_position).normalized()
direction = direction.lerp(new_direction, turn_speed * delta)
velocity = direction * speed

This game was fun has potential as a fully fleshed out game i would like the option to use wasd to move and didnt understand that i could open more then one chest my first play

Developer

Thanks for playing! You can open up to three chests out of the total six!
