This is very fun! I love an rpg with a recruitment mechanic. It is a liiiittle overpowered though, especially if you recruit the sun. I think I found a bug btw. When I beat the 3rd special monster while the sun was still an enemy I lost the option to progress the battle. Overall, good job!!

Developer(+1)

I will look into the bug to avoid it next time, thank you for reporting it. And thank you for playing too !

Fun concept and well designed combat. I do feel that it's a little straightforward if you simply recruit everyone you can. I'd also like to see an indicator of who is attacking because that part of the encounter gets somewhat confusing. I really appreciated the Paper Mario-style "tattles" from right clicking, which have a great blend of flavor and useful info. Definitely a concept I'd like to see expanded into a larger project as someone who enjoys team-building RPG's. Great work!

Really cool concept! I like that you can rally monsters to join you, I just rally all the way to the end lol. I think it's a bit too easy for my liking, a timer to limit how long the player can look at the puzzle would slightly increase difficulty. Overall it is a very enjoyable game!

The rally mechanic was very well tought and original, good use of the wildcard. I think that adding a special attack to the sun enemy could have enhanced the uniqueness of him. The game is very fun, I've enjoyed the simple sprites and the humorous story. Nice entry, congrats!

Really enjoyed this entry! The dialog was fun, and I liked the rally mechanic. It was fun growing my party through those little memory games. Great entry!

Developer

Thank you very much for your kind words, and thank you for playing ! I'm glad you liked the dialog as it was the first time I put some in one of my game !

Great concept and very nice execution of the wildcards. I like the game but I couldn't understand the use of the sun wildcard.

Very nice game.

Great job.

Developer(+1)

I put the sun wildcard in the game as a weird idea: I put a monster that looks like a sun and has stupidly high stats (30 ATK where the others have like 10). Thus you "hate" him as an enemy you encounter, but if you get him on your team you will love him ! I know that is tricky and not really what you think with the card but well I think that works !

Thank you for playing !

Good game although. If you have time please make sure to check out my game and help me with the feedback for improvement as it is my first public game and also first game jam.

Developer(+1)

I'll be sure to check out your game !

I liked how you integrated 2 different genres into one. If both mechanisms are polished more ( battle / recruitment ) It seems like it would make a solid game.

Developer

The gameplay is clearly lacking here but I'm considering developing the idea further with better mechanics. Thank you for playing and your feedback !

Great concept and fun execution. I think you did great work on the art and characters. Great use of the theme, especially with the recruiting mechanic. Also... the sun with 30 hit points!
I would have enjoyed an opportunity to convince the bosses, but made it extra difficult. Would be fun to rally a full dungeon revolution for players who want a perfect score.
Great work!

Developer

I'm glad you liked the art, I really tried to improve on that part this time ! That surely would be fun to make a bigger game where you have to lead a small revolution and make good choices and fights to get get out where you can convince anyone, I'm considering the idea. Thank you for your kind words and for playing !

Short, but sweet! I really like the concept behind this one (which is pretty similar to what I ended up making). The convincing mechanic was fun, too.

I wish there was a little more strategy to which enemies you convince. It felt like each battle could have been a little puzzle, trying to figure out what order to recruit in. Maybe resetting your party before each level, so you have to choose between high attack or high defence?

Anyway, I had a good time :)

I'm glad you liked it ! I put more efforts towards the story and visuals than gameplay so I agree with you, I'll try focusing on gameplay on my next game and make a better playing experience. Anyway, thank you for playing !
