Game Description
A game about wanting to forget.

How does your game tie into the theme?
I took the idea of 'void' as related to the notion of 'oblivion', forgetting one's memories entirely.

An excellent starting point for creating something really cool. I really like the design and the atmosphere of the game. I believe it wasn't easy to design due to its complexity, and this reflects your talent. Great job :)

the whole DS-esque “SecondScreen” concept is insanely cool! I turned my monitor 90 degrees and it worked great. though I think something’s weird with the resolution scaling, because the text was pretty blurry. anyway, I hope to see more utilization of the “touch” screen in future projects!

the info dump at the start was rough — maybe it’d be better to have a “help” button in each app so players can look for instructions when they need it.

I liked the gloomy mood and visuals, but the gameplay fell a bit flat in my opinion — I just think this type of “follow the compass” gameplay is not for me. and I’m not sure if I reached the end, as it abruptly stopped on a black screen after they said “I can’t”. it felt like a somewhat uplifting ending to a somber story, like the memory of the loved one must be kept alive. but I don’t know if it was supposed to end there, or if something went wrong.

You make a great point about the help screen thing! Thank you!

Really nice art style and ambience was really effective and unnerving. Felt like a DS style title!

Wowza~! The visuals you got going on for this game are stellar. Remember seeing some of your posts on the Discord; super cool seeing the game finished and how it came together. The narrative is super compelling and deep, as well as the use of lighting and color to create a sense of darkness and void. Think artistically, you really nailed the theme down.

I think my only nitpick with visuals would probably be the gamma and strength of the red when used as an indication of health. It became a bit jarring and hard to see where I was going (more-so than the black and darkness you had when at full-health). I'm not really sure why that is and could just be a me thing.

Again, nitpick, enjoyed your game and would be cool to see what sort of stuff you do with it if you choose to develop it further.

I've been mislead by the sound when hitting enemies, but that may be because I'm quite dumb u_U

That's not my type of game, but I felt the strong narrative behind and enjoyed it.
I did like the sound, dark and vibrant when near objectives, else none, it fitted the game well.
There are some very interesting mechanics here !

I'll enjoy hearing your thoughts about my game too !

Cool game. At first I didn't undestood the 2nd tab mechanic so I was just constantly breathing, and somehow complited the game. Then I saw the gif of how to do it... didn't realize the swipe use the mouse lol, silly me. Coll atmosphere and implementation of a theme

Cool game! I agree with the gamma setting, as the screen is also small, it is a bit difficult to see. The tutorial would work better as a quick "show how to play" as the text confused me a bit at the beginning (and there is quite a bit).  I really like the SecondScreen and the small minigames guiding you through the story! Well done

Very good game, thumbs up!

Really cool, just the concept of doing a DS game is super original! Really brought me back. The concept of the game itself also feels very much like something I would see myself playing a lot. The only feedback is that I wished there was a gama/brightness setting as playing with the sun blasting into my monitor made it very hard. but gamejams. Congrats

Thank you! I'll try to think of settings like those more in my future games.
