Game Description
Doppel is a stealth based game. You take on the role as the titular "Doppel", a creature of the shadows with the ability to temporarily steal the faces of whoever they kill. Trapped in the dungeons of the King's Keep, you must make your way through the passages and halls of the keep, silently avoiding or dispatching guards, until you can enact your final revenge on the king.

How does your game tie into the theme?
The concept is based on the Doppelgänger. A folklore creature that can mimic people perfectly.

Really cool game. I liked how as you played it explained the mechanics, however I forgot how to throw, and couldn't see a way to get that information back. Maybe if controls were included in the pause menu? Also I kept getting the prompt about being the vision cone of the guards over and over again, but not the others.

I thought this was really fun and combined a lot of mechanics including upgrade between rooms, very interesting.

I did get a possible bug where if I die in a certain way, I somehow cannot get out of the "you got caught" screen in any way without reloading the whole page.

It's a minor detail though, I really enjoyed the room layouts, different mechanics and upgrades, and I thought this game was really fun!

Doppel is a really amazing game concept, usually people never submit a stealth-based game in a jam and this is the first time ever playing one in any game jam. The level design is unbelievably outstanding, I feel like I'm actually in the level while actively trying to avoid the guards who are looking for me. The vision cone is such an amazing add-on to the game and makes it feel like you actually need to be stealthy. The throwing rock system is also very similar to the earlier Farcry games, especially Farcry 1-3. Although, I had trouble getting past the first level because every time I tried to throw the rock to distract the guard and make his vision cone away from my line of path, he would always run up to me and I failed as soon as he saw me. This game is very outstanding as a whole, but maybe the AI guards could us some work though!

Wow, super fun! Solid stealth mechanics with a really unique twist. Definitely want to see more levels. Aspect of the Rat all the way.

It's a shame that it's so short, but I understand that time has been dedicated to polishing the mechanics, the art and the AI of the enemies, which by the way is very well done! I like the reactions they have.

Great work! :D

I like the user of the lighting system and the particle effects on the main character. I like the mechanics introduced with the sneak and distraction. The little sound effect when the rock hits the barrel is very satisfying.

I think it would be nice to have an option to turn off the tutorial when I restart so I don’t have to keep seeing it. Sometimes it wasn’t very clear how close I was to being caught either, so it was a bit confusing. It was nerve wracking trying to run away from the guards and they then they would suddenly turn and start moving towards me really quick rather than towards my distraction. I think maybe the guards were a bit too sensitive to my movement?

I tried quite a few times but I couldn’t figure out how to get past the first room of guards. I’d love a demo video so I can understand it better and play the rest of the game. Nevertheless I love the sound and visual design for the game so far!

Excellent job and great seeing a different take on stealth!  The controller didn't work well for me, the menus didn't appear navigable with it and so I moused for the first upgrade, then it would only throw in the mouse cursor direction.  Despite being stuck using KBM, I really enjoyed it, excellent execution!  Literally!

Glad you liked it! Yea the controller support was a bit last minute, so I’m not surprised it doesn’t work that well.. Should automatically switch back when you go back to controller but I guess not :/

Awesome execution! like the different upgrade paths that help shape your strategy, wish there was more levels, but you did amazingly in the timeframe!

Really solid, only wish there were a few more levels, I wasn't able to get all the upgrades :(

Really solid, had no real bugs throughout. Love how reactive the light / shadows are

Really well done game, fantastic art and gameplay feel.

The only downside is that I wasn't really forced to use the "steal the face of what you kill" as playing it as a normal stealth game worked in every level but the tutorial.
