Game Description
Cute spirit kitty enters the platforming dream world to harvest some nightmare fuel! Your normal chill day of being a sorcerer's familiar.
How does your game tie into the theme?
This evil sorcerer's kitty is here to torment the human's dreams... but wait... isn't it a little too cute and fluffy for that? Maybe sending such a cute familiar will bring some unintended consequences...

Great job on your first entry!
The speed of the parallax made me feel a bit woozy and the lack of a coyote-timer felt unforgiving, especialy with how tight some of the jumps were, and this is coming from someone who made a few of their platformer jumps a bit too punshing. 😂
Appreciated the original artwork!
Thank you for your kind words! Oh dear, a bit woozy xP is definitely not what I wanted ahaha. I will make sure to tweak that once judging is over! And yup the punishing platformer trap is real... I'm glad you liked the artwork!
It was a little bit challenging for me.
but I loved the controls, super responsive. And the art and animations are great.
Good job!
Thank you for your kind comments! I will absolutely look into game difficulty in the future. Glad you enjoyed!
Really nice looking game. Loved all the animations for the cat. The parallax forest looked really nice, but it felt off. I think the layers were moving too fast. Platforming was challenging. It was very fast and fluid. I appreciated the frequent save points. It was kind of funny to see the cat bounce around when I kept dying right as I respawned. I thought the shrubs blended in a bit too much. They were sometimes hard to see.
Thank you for your comments! I will definitely look into tweaking the environment to make it a better experience once the jam is over. Love that you appreciated the checkpoint frequency too - one of my pet peeves is having to redo huge sections of games so was definitely conscious of checkpoint placement when I was designing the levels! I'm glad you enjoyed! o/
Cute game and challenging platformer! The art is really nice, though I often had a hard time discerning platform elements in the foreground from the background. A little tip for making sure the game screen stays readable is to take a screenshot and convert it to greyscale so you can see if at a glance the values read clearly. Making the background a lot lighter than the foreground or vice versa might help!
I wish there'd been more of coyote time on the jumps as a lot of the time I felt like the response to jumps didn't feel intuitive and I got a little frustrated.
The concept is adorable!
Aw thank you for your great tip on game readability! I will definitely try it out and play with values so the foreground is more visually distinct - I fell into the trap of trying to make everything look good artistically and didn't spare too much thought for readability this time o-o. Coyote time is another feature I really want to implement in future games! I'm glad you enjoyed ^^
I found this pretty fun! Really struggled on that first jump where you have to hit the platform just right and avoid the deadly plant thing, but it was engaging enough to keep going until I made it. The art was pretty good, nice use of parallax. My biggest criticism is the opening screens - they go by too fast to read, and there's also no skipping them. Both could be solved by just leaving the screen up until the player clicks /spacebars to move to the next one.
Otherwise, yeah, really enjoyed your game! Great job!
Thank you for your feedback!! I agree that the first jump is probably too big of a spike in difficulty - rebalancing is on the horizon! The cutscenes definitely warrant reworking as well - I didn't have enough time to get them implemented with the skip button or player control like you said ;-;. Will definitely include them in my next game! I'm glad you enjoyed overall!
The art in this is fantastic! the parallax backgrounds are really cool and all the sprites/animations are super charming. However since there is so much going on in the background, the obstacles like the thorns can be really hard to see and the hurt-box is super unforgiving; making them higher contrast would help a lot. like others have mentioned, adding coyote time and better camera movement would help elevate the platforming significantly. Great work, and super impressive for a first game!
Thank you for your comment!! I'm glad you liked the art :3
I agree with the thorns being a bit too unforgiving - that's definitely something I want to revisit once the judging period is over! Turns out the initial thought of making them the same colour as the tiles so they would blend better is not the best user experience choice... I'm glad you enjoyed it overall ^^/
A nice platformer, although I would've enjoyed if there was coyote time. But that aside I really love the open sequence and the art haha. Great game!
Thank you! Coyote time is absolutely a feature I wanted to try implementing - alas, game jam time constraints! Next time. I'm glad you liked it :D
Hi. I have an issue with the windows version
Got an error
The .pck file is missing
Hai thanks for letting me know! I am aware of this issue but can't fix or make any uploads until the game jam voting period ends... for now, please use the web version :3
ok
i like the Cat, the plattformer is hard for me, because the big hitboxes, no cojote time but it feels like a good plattformer.
Thank you for your feedback! Coyote time is definitely a feature I want to implement in the future and I am aware that the level difficulty is a little high :0. I'm glad you enjoyed!

I like your art stlye. The intro/story was pretty cool as well. I feel like the jumps could be a bit more forgiving (e.g. coyote time, thorn colliders) but all in all it worked out pretty well
I'm glad you liked my art style! It felt great to come back to art (I haven't drawn anything in over a year, but pixel art was such a cool medium I'm loving it!). Thank you for the tips on how to improve the platforming experience too ^^
Congrats on finishing your first GWJ ! The drawings for the story beginning and end are really pretty and the story is cool ! Overall the game has really good visuals. The platformer mechanics work well and finishing the four level was hard but not annoying thanks to the checkpoints. However I felt like the camera was moving too much, especially when I died quickly on my attempts, as the levels are really horizontals moving only the X-axis of the camera and not the Y could improve that I think. Anyway I didn't encounter any bugs and you did a good placement in the levels to have some diversity, it was fun to go through, great job !
Thank you for such detailed feedback! And yes, finishing my first GWJ was so rewarding - just getting a game out there to be played. I'm really happy to join a supportive game dev community! Thank you for the feedback on the camera movement, it will definitely be something I look into more with future games. Playing with the axis is something new for me to consider :D
Wow, the game looks very nice! I like the story. The platforming is a bit difficult though and the physics are a bit wonky sometimes. This is a good game for your first jam though :)
Thank you!! The physics is definitely a side of godot that I want to explore more. I'm glad you liked the visuals and hope I can make even better games in the future ^^
Wow this is your first game? Amazing job! The graphics are phenomenal, and the controls and level design all work well. My only critique would be the difficulty level is pretty high right from the start - I'd say maybe start off a bit easier and then ramp it up. But great entry overall!
Aw thank you for the high praise!! I'm really glad my first game went well. Level difficulty is definitely a point to consider more in the future - I think when you're playtesting as the developer, you become a bit too familiar with the mechanics and how to judge the difficulty ahaha. Thank you for playing! :3
