Game Description
It's true, there really are. Roll them Dungeons & Dragons-style to determine the outcomes of mundane household endeavors! Succeed or fail in comically exaggerated ways while you strive to overcome your inner doubts about your ability to function as an adult.
How does your game tie into the theme?
The game starts with a wish... one that ends up coming true in a way the main character was never expecting. In addition, dice-rolling shenanigans mean even simple tasks often end in very silly ways.

I think this type of game is called a ‘visual novel’. So unfortunately there's not much you can do, the game ends quickly, but I can say that what's there is really beautifully realised. I like this drawn wobbly look. I played through it twice because I wanted to see what would happen if I selected the other options. I also messed up making my bed once because of the dice roll, even though it should be easy. Then when I went down the stairs on a skateboard I got a 6 lol.
Very cute game! I loved the art and the general vibe of the game, certainly made me feel something. Nice work!
This is such a unique and well crafted experience! The message about our perception of time and sense of responsibility definitely comes from a genuine personal insight on life, and its very relatable to most of us I'm sure. Great narrative take on the theme. well done!
Wonderful art and music! Very interesting game!
Charming art piece with strong narrative as usual Mystery! Some mornings, waking up requires me to roll a 6 too, so the game resonates with me (a little too much).
The theme comes thru clearly in the "be careful of what you wish for" moral. The hand-sketched art style goes perfectly on the notepad background. Scene transitions blend perfectly with the music fizzling. Lots of nice touches here.
Always a pleasure to experience your projects! Looking forward to the next one already.
Hey, thanks so much for playing!! Haha, we've all been there I think xD It makes me happy a lot of people related to the main character!!
Man, this is the second jam in a row I've seen your team's game and thought, "Ooh, I've gotta play that one!" before I even realized it was your entry! You guys are clearly doing an awesome job with the presentation. Can't wait to give it a try!!
Thanks again for the kind review!! :)
Really, really lovely. The theme was incredibly wholesome and sweet, relatable and quite funny. And the art and music were real treats– I had a smile on my face the entire time!
My only feedback:
Most importantly, I am incredible at riding the skateboard down the stairs and making my bed. :)
Wonderful work.
Oh, I'm curious how long it took in total, and how your time was spread!
Hey, thanks so much for playing!! The feedback is greatly appreciated! Yeah, those definitely seem to be some of the most recurring difficulties for people so far. It's been great thinking about those issues and how I could've, and might in the future, try to fix them...
You're totally right, both the shard-hunting bit and the time loop idea were things I wanted to be a big part of the game, but ended up being barely developed as ideas and not very well, either. The shard-hunting thing in particular ended up feeling like kind of an obtuse barrier if you don't know what you're looking for. Definitely would rework that now if I could! xD
I was able to put in like 2-3 hours in on most weekdays and a couple 6+ hour stints on weekends!! It's amazing how much goes into even a simple project, haha. It was my first attempt at a game that didn't use pixel art, so when I wasn't sweating bullets while writing down as many dumb jokes as I could think of I was frantically trying to get my doodles to look good enough to put in the game xD
Thanks for being interested (and giving me an excuse to ramble, lol)!!
Well, for your first attempt at not-pixel art, I'd say it was a huge success! My partner and I were smiling at how cute it was, and the message was really touching, with neither of us being unfamiliar with mental-health.
The main-menu loop was really cute, and reminded me of the trick that Fez pulled! Perhaps some small visual cues and a tonal shift in music would convey that something wasn't quite right.
Amazing that you were able to get all of that done in such a short amount of time. Great job! (I wonder if you might explore more/adjacent for https://itch.io/jam/mental-health-game-dev-champions-2024?)
Aww, thank you!! Those are great thoughts, thank you for them! Man, I'm gonna have to get around to playing Fez one of these days, that game looks cool...
Thanks for the link!! I remember thinking that jam looked really intriguing a ways back (plus a really exciting opportunity), but I'd nearly forgotten about it! Dang... I wonder if I could flesh out this idea into a more complete game in time for that? I did make this inside the allotted time window, and I bet I could do a lot with it in three months >:D Exciting thoughts are formulating. I guess I should check to make sure that's not against the rules, first xD
Thanks again!!
You’re so welcome! Excited to see if you go for it!
roll the dice, i love the ART <3 insane animations, thank you
Ayyyyyy!! Thanks for playing! I was literally just cracking up at your game's tagline last night and thinking, "Okay, I can't NOT play this now." Hopefully I'll get some time to do that soon!! xD
I had to give this one a try after seeing a bit of it in the WIP channel. I wasn't expecting to find the character's wish so relatable! The presentation is very cute - there's plenty of potential for a larger game here if you choose to make one.
Hey, thanks so much for playing!! That kind of encouragement really means a lot, especially from a pro like you :D
Man, imagine having an entire house worth of nonsense to get yourself into... I know it's quite common for people to build on jam game ideas to make full game projects, but I somehow never considered doing it myself! The thought is actually really exciting, dang...
Thanks so much again!!
Beautiful, beautiful game. I didn't jam this time but had to come check it out of course! And then replay a few times to see the different outcomes :) Your artstyle and writing just oozes character and the first moments are immediately very relatable, to many I'm sure. Great music once again as well, love the tape-stop effect. Really awesome job, as usual!
Awww, hey, thank you so much for playing! This means a ton to me!!
Random fact... I was feeling nostalgic for old Nintendo DS titles and so I ended up using the soundfont from the DS eShop background music for this! It was actually pretty fun to work with haha xD
Thank you so much for stopping by, always great to hear from you! :D
Very nice game, although very short, but sweet and fun is what I would qualify it as!
The artstyle is very cute and the music is very cool, lovely experience overall!
All I can ask for is, more of it please!
Thank you so much!!
Wow - this game is incredible. The writing is excellent and the theme is way too relatable - what an original idea and a great take on the theme - that ending really got me. The art is also great - love stylized 2D graphics - and the UI is super well executed. My only criticism is the page description doesn't do the game justice, I hope enough people get to experience it!
Thank you so much for your kind words!! I was a little worried I hadn't pulled off the heavier themes as well as I could've, so it makes me really happy to hear it worked for you!
Thank you so much for playing :D
I love the aesthetic! The crinkled paper/sketch style art mixed with the bright colors is really effective at setting the atmosphere. Nice work.
