I think I played this way past the finish line :D
A fun ending could be to have short stories about a few of the couples that got married or moved in together. For example; are they still together, what are their plans for the future, do they have kids, if they broke up - did they find someone else, and so on.
Good job making this!
Oh that's a great idea to make the end screen more interesting! Thanks for the message!
The art, UI and sound design all make for a really cohesive and cute experience! I feel like there could be some more depth to the game play, though. It feels a little repetitive after 10 or so matches, but its a solid foundation to build more on if you keep developing. Well done!
"Lola Ladybug and Lola Ladybug did not enjoy their evening together, and wont be going on a second date." Lol, I feel that...
Haha, the results are sometimes very interesting! Thanks for the message!
Hey, good game, congrats! The art and music is very nice.
I think that is only missing some kind of ending when the bar get depleted or full.
Thanks! We agree that should've been in the game!
Fun concept and really cute artwork! Great work and I hope you all are proud!
Thanks so much!
Really cute game idea and lovely art and sound, so overall it has a great vibe. but I'd join the others in saying that ultimately it gets boring quite quickly, as comparing the cards takes a lot of time and after a while you just get the same responses. I was hoping that eventually, there would be another consequences to my matches (my mind went to the times I had brought carnivores and herbivores together, maybe!) and I couldn't tell if there'd be an ending state so eventually, after trying to click through at random to see if the heartbar would max out and give me a win-state, I had to give up.
Could be really fun with more polish and if the gameplay was elevated a bit.
Thanks! Not getting in more (working) consequences is probably our biggest regret.
Cute! I love the sound effect used for the dialogue.
Thanks! The sound effect is freely available :)
cute match game =D funny but i spam to random and didnt lose =D

The game does need some balancing in that regard :D
Cool game, really good visuals, really fun
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for leaving a message!
Very cute game! I love the audio and graphics. Unfortunately, I had to exit since my choices seemed to not matter at all to the game.

Your choices do matter, but not nearly enough. We agree the game needs some tuning here. Next time around we're sure to incorporate some earlier playtesting in our cycle!
How can a game be so charming and yet so boring to play? I read through the descriptions and always tried to find the most suitable partner. But not much else happens. You always choose the card with the most matches out of 3 cards. Even if I only ever choose one at random, I don't seem to die. So the heart bar increases rather than decreases if you just click through, or at least it doesn't penalise you enough. Card games can be interesting when it comes to strategy, but comparing conditions is not the interesting part of card games for me. So individually that can be cool, but a game that's all about that is not my cup of tea.

The game can definitely use some tuning to make choices matter more. We understand that by itself it might not be as fun. The unintended consequences had intended for this to be a short fun experience, not something that lasts. For that, we think, a secondary mechanic would be great so you would have to balance something else (for example, an economy) against making a good match. And unfortunately some of our unintended consequences aren't showing up which means that now even that part falls a little flat :(
Love the art and the music and the nonsense mumbling when the characters speak (reminded of Celeste). It looks like the heart meter maxes out a certain point--it would be nice to get a popup letting you know that you've "won" the game or something like that. Great job!

Yep, that was the plan. We learned a lot from this jam. My last GWJ was years ago so everything took _even more_ time than we had anticipated ^^;
Very cute! I matched for a while but it was hard to tell if/when the bar was moving, so I eventually gave up. I really like the "voices" and the art. Nice work!

The bar does stop growing intentionally, the idea was to end the game there. Unfortunately, this did not go as planned. Sorry for the confusion!
Very nice game and great art, well done! Some of the descriptions did not really fit the matches. I had Layla ask me to find someone and extra kudo's if they like tanning, but then dislikes the beach. It would also be good to be able to see my progress and have something to works towards. I got the bar to the end of the first card but it did not seem to grow anymore. Cute little game!

We weren't able to work out a good system to identify how similar hobbies were. In hindsight we should have just removed any overlapping hobbies, but we had hoped that we could reward such overlapping matchings initially.
No need to apologise! This happens with game jams, nothing ever goes as plans for us. It is good to try things out!
