Wow. Seriously impressive, you two… I’m a long-time dungeon defenders fan, so it’s nice to see many of the same elements here, along with some interesting improvements.
This was a super ambitious jam project - I’m very impressed with how playable you were able to make it in such a short time, and with so many features. Although a bit buggy, it looks like a game I’d expect to find on Steam after some polishing.

As far as bugs I noticed:

  • The game crashed when exiting tutorial.
  • I dropped an archer tower and was allowed to pick up 3 archer towers from the original orb.
  • Trying to run and climb the rope in an archer tower, I end up being ejected through the wall at speed, instead of climbing the rope like I expect.
  • Game is a bit wonky when you lose - not saying I lost right away, the ropes staying up as the tower collapses, etc.

Again, very good work!

lots of different systems at play here, and i think you guys executed them very well! the art was awesome, animations and movement were fluid. i love how engaged you have to be with this tower defense in contrast to the standard tower defense game where after a certain point you just AFK. the theme and sfx/vfx were great too, surprisingly polished for a game jam! did notice from framerate and clipping issues as well but overall really enjoyed this, nice work!

I love how this game looks! I am a huge fan of the stylized low-framerate animations. Normally I'm not much of a tower defense player, but I like how playing as a character that can also fight enemies helps keep things engaging at all times. I also really like the UI's visual design and the appearance of the characters.

I noticed that the game had some framerate issues during gameplay, and that it was possible to duplicate towers by clicking on the pack-up button several times.

Great job!

Nice game! I love tower defense games and this was an interesting version with the addition of getting into the battle yourself.

As others said - quite impressive in size. It would be nice to have more 'gentle' introduction into the game mechanics as the tutorial was a bit overwhelming.

It was fun to play though :)

Thank you!

Oh wow what an ambitious game!

Love the sword attack vfx and the visuals in general. The blood spatter of the goblins sort of blinded me, but cool Valheim-ish style! :)

Very impressive that you guys got it all together in this short time.

What happened to the protagonist's nose? :D

A few thought that came to me while playing:

The tutorial was a bit overwhelming but informative. There was often an infobox when aiming at things. Maybe zipline and such could have had that too to make the tutorial a bit shorter...? Idk!
When there is no wave ongoing, some more chill music would have been nice while prepping for next wave!
The process of building was a bit tedious. Maybe the shop could have been available at all times instead of going up the tower, going down to the ground and repeat :)
The waves took quite a long time to reach the tower, maybe I should have built towers much farther away from the main tower, but it looks like they can spawn pretty much everywhere, so maybe there should have been more like labyrinths they have to walk through, to be able to defend just a few lanes?

Very cool submission!

I thought this looked great and was pretty fun to play, too! Beautiful artwork as always. I struggled with some of the movement controls, and sometimes had issues with the camera. There were also some issues of clipping through tower walls. Played a few times though and enjoyed myself. On my last playthrough, at the start of round 8, the tower instantly lost all its heath before I saw goblins reach it, so I stopped there.

Great submission! I'm curious what kind of strategies end up being dominant for other players.

It’s really impressive what you’ve managed to create here, especially for two people. I always love 3D games in jams. There are so many systems in this game. Great job!

Whoa, nice graphics! Your character, the goblins, and the occupants of each of the towers are all well designed and rendered. The splash of goblin blood is good, the grass is good, the towers are good. Good art all around.

The game was interesting too, having to resupply towers. It was cool to put ziplines everywhere, but I found myself just jumping between the tops of towers because of how close I had packed them. I wish you could have climbed up the ziplines back to the center tower, not that that makes any sense since they're, you know, ziplines.

I loved mowing down stinky goblins with the sword too, which was also well rendered. Great job on a the game!

Really liked the addition of a tutorial! Definitely helped explain a lot of mechanics. Once I got into it I had like 15 towers at once just blasting the goblins away. Also we used the exact goblin noise for enemies haha I remember using that sound for my first GWJ. Great play! Can't wait to see it polished!

Thanks for the comment! We really wanted to make sure a tutorial was in the game we had a lot to explain. And its a great goblin noise :D
