Very well done TD game. Polished and balanced - playing on hard I found myself constantly needing to retry stages. The graphics are simple but effective. The different music times were nice, more sound effects could have been nice but understand the limit timeframe.
Not a complaint but was not able to beat the game yet so hope to come back and beat it after the jam.
Thanks for submitting, definitely one of the best ones so far.
Edit: Noted that you cannot resume at a later stage... this is a must to add
knowing that the theme was "Tower", i knew that, coming into it, there would be lots of Tower Defenses. i didn't expect many of them to be good, considering how hard it is to make a TD game. this one takes the cake for me though. classic, solid, polished, with lots of content to boot. my only criticism is that progression is a little slow. try adding a "speed up" feature like in many TD games (try Godot's "time_scale" feature maybe?). i also wish the game could run in the background, so i could AFK while doing other stuff.
this is still really good though. i don't know how you managed to do all this in a week. well done.
this was fun! i love TD games and this is a pretty good one, i got through the first two stages and am planning to come back to it later and try to beat it. nice work!
Thanks! it may be slightly impossible to beat because of some glitches (the monster) in stage 9, but I have a more balanced version ready to put up as soon as the voting is over
There can never be enough tower defence games and this is a pretty good one! I'm impressed by how much content and polish went into it. Well done :)
Great little TD. Graphics are good, sounds are nice. The towers and upgrades are balanced with a good amount of variety. The only bit of friction I could come up with would be a way to speed up the action a little bit. Other than that small little gripe, your game works great! Well done!
Great TD. I love your tower ideas the only critic is that this game may be to much for a jam but as a game great work bud
This game is so much fun! The music is great! I wish I had more time to play this longer!
Very solid take on the tower defense genre. I enjoyed it.
Only downside is I didn't have enough time to finish all the levels.
To improve the game further it might be nice to see what the enemy stats are and number of waves left in the current level.
Thanks for trying it out! Seeing the waves remaining is a good idea and should be easy to put in, thanks for the suggestion. Seeing enemy stats would be a little harder to implement but also a good idea. Glad you liked the game
I think the overall length of the levels are fine, they just need to be shorter at the start. With fewer options, there's not enough strategy element to keep players entertained long enough. First level should be really short, then ramp up quickly with more options for players to fiddle with. It's a very solid tower game. I'm impressed you were able to pack so much gameplay in such a short time!
Great music and graphics! It's a satisfying tower defence game that provided plenty of time to build up units while providing more challenge with each wave. The Next Wave button also helped to provide some additional difficulty or just to rack up more coins for towers quicker.
I would have liked to new tower types unlocked sooner since there is an impressive amount of content that just needs more time to get to. But other than that, it's super polished and has a ton of gameplay!
Thanks! Yeah I probably should have made the first few stages shorter, or introduced more towers quicker so players could actually use them. You get the last one by stage 9, and then the game's practically over!
WOW. made it all the way to stage 9 legitimately and then had to skip to stage 10, all i can say is i spent hours on this game and i enjoyed every second of it. extremely polished, amazing music, awesome art and sfx, one of my favorite submissions by far. the glitches are the bane of my existence, but very cleverly designed enemies as well. i know some of the comments mention length as a downside, but i personally really enjoyed how much time i could spend on this. a 2x speed option might've been nice though. amazing work!
You know you’re allowed to have an end to your game, right?? Wow… I need to go to work, but I wanted to finish this real quick since I started it last night, but it just goes on and on… It’s great!
Like others have said, a speed control would allow everyone to finish rating this in the time for the jam, but I might have to put it down because of time constraints, not because I don’t want to finish it.
It’s super well made and there’s an impressive amount of detail in the little things. A tower defense game isn’t super original (not bad - I really like them), but this one was made original because of all the little details and the exceptional level of polish.
I hope you get first place!
I had fun reaching stage 4 but then the armored snails on opposite lanes overran my defense😅. I like the cute artstyle and the music was very relaxing. A "double speed" button would have been nice.
Glad you liked the music! The artist at https://ontama-m.com/ makes tons of songs like that and is a great resource for games. I plan to add a speed adjustment of some kind after the jam. Thanks for playing!
As others have said the waves were a bit long and could have used a faster pace. I got to stage 2 with the very tanky mushrooms.
It plays nicely, the grid placement worked really well. I enjoyed the calm atmosphere and towers swaying.
Really nice tower defense game. I don't know if these normally have it, but a fast forward button would have been really nice to see the towers quickly grinding through waves of slugs and friends. Great work on your game!
Your thumbnail image drew me in and made me want to play! I agree with the other commenters that the waves were too long. I think limiting a wave to a single song would be a good measure. I appreciated the cheat codes option to be able to see more of what was made. It was unclear to me how to upgrade towers (was that feature not implemented?) Impressive what you got done in the time!
Thanks for trying the game! Glad you like the thumbnail.
About upgrades, to upgrade you simply have to select a tower on the grid. You have to exit build mode first by right clicking or clicking the 'stop build mode' button in the bottom left.
Enjoyed this a bunch. The glitches almost got me! really solid concept and game. Keep up the good work!
Good Game. Like everyone said the wave too long. want to see all the tower, only seen 2 the explosive and the electric one.
Super cute art style and music. I do have to agree with the previous commenter that each stage was exceptionally long for a tower defence game. Much shorter stages would keep the player going to see the next enemy and tower. Alternatively a 2x/3x speed would've been a nice option, kind of like how Bloons does so if you're confident in your build you can just fast forward to the next wave.
A heck of an accomplishment in a weeks jam though!
A fast forward button sounds like a good idea. After the jam I'll see about implementing one. Thanks for the feedback!
Very cute artwork and aesthetics! I would've liked if each stage was a bit shorter; I used the cheats menu to advance ahead a bit faster just to check out the other towers that the game has since it took awhile to clear each stage regularly. Great work!
The stages can be a bit long I suppose. I should have made more stages and spread the waves out a bit more. Glad you liked the art and aesthetics. Thanks for the feedback!
