By far one of my favorite entries of the jam. I was watching your progress in the Discord and thought what you two (I think?) were cooking up looked fascinating. It did not disappoint in the slightest. I found it super engaging, with my biggest complaint being that I just wanted a little more. That's a my favorite problem for a game jam entry to have.

My two pieces of feedback are pretty small:

  1. The controls and credits being presented in a circle around you at the beginning was cool, but maybe a little unfriendly in terms of accessibility and ease-of-use? Definitely novel though.
  2. Were the gnomes every supposed to go hostile? I'm not sure they ever attacked me? Am I monster for killing all the gnomes? Or was that a bug?

The sounds were all super satisfying, the aesthetic was primo, and the gameplay loop was addictive. I would be over the moon if your team expanded the game and added a little more variety to the progression, maybe a few more enemies and decorations. Hats off to you, thank you for submitting this one.

Thanks for the feedback! Yes the gnomes are chill little dudes and you are a monster for smacking them up, but it felt kind of good to be a bad guy in a game.

Dude this game is awesome! I love the whole idea, and the monsters are great (terrifying as well). I hope to see further development of this game after the jam, nice work guys!

Stunning visuals and lovely sfx. Awesome monsters. Really cool mechanics. Just missing some sort of progression or variation, to keep it interesting. I love the diegetic map, it’s simply amazing. Great entry!

Got to 20 before I had to tap out. Super original and fun to play. A couple parts scared the shit out of me lol. I was throwing shields at like every hedge for a while. Great job, one of the best I've seen

Another Travh Classic. Really enjoyed this game, nice design and all the stuff you made fit well together. As others mentioned some music could have been nice or more enemies / some more challenge. beside that for a jam game very polished well made and fun to play. Good job!

This game is so good. Feels like an old quake mod or something. Plays well and is wonderfully weird.

I died in the 10th maze, 14m and score of 356.

Good game, it would be even better with more enemies. The sound of the gnomes dying is way too funny. hahaha Congrats!

I now have a totally normal and healthy fear of topiaries lol.  But seriously though, I had a good time, even if I'm not great at it.  Got to level 4 or so and was given a really long map

This is super unique! Fantastic work.

My Notes

  • It took me a while to understand the pace of the game, I was expecting a doom like but it’s more deliberate than that.
  • I enjoyed attacking the enemies from around corners.
  • I love the noise the little guys make when they die.
  • The shield bouncing and movement feel good.
  • The map was way more useful than I expected, particularly because you can see the shields.
  • The theme is interesting.
  • Some music and general progression would be nice.

Very cool idea, a lot of nice mechanics for a jam game! I gave up after ~10 levels. The throw mechanic works pretty well, the enemies give me the creeps too. I feel like it is a bit too easy, I can just break line of sight for the ground creatures and slowly kill them, and one-hit (?) the sky creatures. Maybe a bit of level progression would have been nice.

But yeah, a great entry! I guess I will never trust bushes again from now on.
