Carrying around your "heart" is a very interesting concept! I just suck at the controls and couldn't get very far :'(. I wish I had a little more control while jump/dashing. The art and music are lovely. I think it's a very solid game though a little too hard for me. Good job!
The game is very intuitive and addictive, I played for 10+ mins. Congrats on a great game!
The style of this game is incredible! I love the art direction and music! The atmosphere is on point.
I agree the game is very hard, but it’s still fun. I think it could definitely benefit from controllable jumps, jump buffering, coyote time, all that stuff. Regardless, it’s a very good entry! Great work :D
Well done gamers! Your entry has atmosphere in spades with the environment, audio and art style :D
Enjoyed the challenge of this one, maneuvering to simultaneously avoid lasers, move the solar heart and not drop onto spikes was frustratingly enjoyable :')
I will agree that the black dots overlaid on the screen was a little distracting and I think a sort of player movement 'freeze' (get it) would be useful on checkpoint respawn as I kept dying due to being able to move while the screen was black, transitioning back into the game as i was eager to get going again! Only other thing would be legibility of the menu, I admittedly was pressing the 'words' unsure of how to start initially so maybe making the buttons a different colour or something could help :)
Good fun, nice challenge, thank you for your effort!!
Great platformer mechanics! I also feel like you were inspired by the previous jam with "Reflection"? :) I liked the vibe and mechanics, but the visual part was a bit painful for the eyes - too much "noise" - those black dots, when the camera moved, create a rather unpleasant feeling, as if the screen has a lot of noise. But behind that, the pixel art is quite neat!
Never participated before lol, and the vignette is already noted and would be fixed in full version, thank you for your feedback!
The game as an interesting idea and controls, nice pixel art-direction and cool music.
Sadly I suck at those game and managing the ball toward checkpoints on top of that is too much for me.
I might have given it a longer try if my controller was supported.
Nice entry nonetheless!
I love the art and the mechanics, the dash mechanic is very cool and fun! I couldn't get so far and I'm not much into the genre, but the jump and dash mechanic kept me playing for longer.
I was trying to rush through the map jumping and dashing and hoping to not land on the spikes lol
Nice game!
I'll beat it eventually but as a game, it's pretty good. I'm currently frustrated out of my mind writing this as I'm at a part where I'll rip my hair strand by strand if I keep trying to get past this certain area so I'll just write down my good thoughts on it for now before I fully lose my insanity. Really interesting concept that of having to get a ball up the tower for a freeze themed game jam. The gameplay is well polished, the audio sounds crisp, the music's not bad, well presented with great visuals. Overall a really nice game besides the fact that it gets more frustrating than fun in the more difficult areas. I understand that's the point of the genre and your game lives up to the punishing part but idk. I might need to come back and finish it to see how I liked the full experience but there's other games from the jam I'd like to check out now. You can be proud of yourself with this one, really well polished challenging game. Congrats on your game!
Huge thanks for your kind words. The direction for the game changed completely through the development proccess, we plan on making little extended version, that would take different approach and be more combat and fun focused! We had almost no playtesting because the time was really pushing us to the limits. Im really thankful for your honesty!
I really liked the art, especially the start menu, which is very beautiful.
On the other hand, I found the gameplay a bit difficult, controlling the sphere and moving at the same time avoiding the spikes is quite complex in my opinion right from the start of the game.
But despite this I think it's a great job! :D
BRO the cover art was mesmerizing i dont know how i missed this gem the gameplay was pretty fun!!!!!
Cool concept! I thought the pushing ball around mechanic was interesting, especially as a save mechanic. I am not very good at platformers so I couldn't get too far, but I also really enjoyed the art style!
