Very cute. Loved the catching minigame! :)
Good first game effort!
GAMEPLAY
I enjoyed the mini-game in the main game and the process of unraveling the story. There were moments when it wasn't clear where I could move up or down, which made navigation a bit confusing due to unclear sprite indications. But I had relaxing fun for the most part of the game.
ART STYLE / VISUALS
The pixel art was okay.
AUDIO / SOUND DESIGN
The sound was very relaxing and complemented the overall laid-back atmosphere of the game.
INNOVATION
Not really applicable.
THEME
The theme was incorporated.
Overall a nice jam entry and keep up this good work ๐ช
The game had a very relaxing vibe to it and the visuals were really nice aswell.
Played and rated!
Really liked the atmosphere and the art style of the game! The minigame was simple yet interesting with the audio sfx. Overall it felt very relaxing, like I was collecting pokemons.
I ran into a bug at some point where pressing E too fast made the catching UI appear, the bar was empty, and I couldn't interact with any button so I got stuck and had to reload.
Well done finishing your first game ๐
Would appreciate if you check out and rate our game as well:

Very nice visuals and relaxing mood. The minigame was a nice little touch to keep the player entertained until the end of the story. I'm usually not a fan of slow pace game but you managed to keep me playing right to the end ๐
I'm so glad you liked it!
Very chill and relaxing game. Fit the theme perfectly and the mini-game was fun/challenging. Congratulations on finishing your first game!
Thank you I appreciate the kind words!
Frog told me to go where I belong, so I did, then the frog told me to go home again, so on my way I tried to catch a bird and it popped up the simon says thing but like greyed out and i couldnโt leave it. Not sure where it was going but I feel like it wasnโt clear what was going on or what the point of anything was. I really liked the sound effects in the simon says game, made it fun and satisfying :)
Oh that definitely sounds like a bug that locked you out of the resolution, sorry about that! Glad to hear the minigame was entertaining though.
Since you got right to the end and it bugged: The point is the boy was feeling isolated so the frog wanted him to reach out to the people around him to make stronger connections to help with those feelings. The frog also suggests he made new connections today and to come back tomorrow. You return to the house after and there's a scene where it's implied his dad is home and the kid shares feelings about being forced to move away and feels better.
Good Game, Please try our game if you are using Windows and resolution is HD :)
I loved the story and game play. Good job!
Not sure what the aim of the game was. I saw the frog popping back up every few spirits, but the dialogue didn't seem to lead anywhere. Visuals and sounds were nice.
Yeah it's a bit of a slower paced game intentionally, seems to take about 5-10 minutes to beat it / get the theme tie in. Totally understand there was a risk of dropping off though due to the slower pace. Thanks for giving it a go!
Keep catching the birds. Every now and then, the frog will appear by the pond in either the first or second location (I think second after a while) and you'll progress the plot. Oh yes, to get to the second map, go to the cave. To get there, go onto the ledge with the fern at the top of the map. there's a slope on the left you ca go down, though it took me ages to notice.
Loved the pixel art.Morever the way you matched it with the theme.
