How does your game fit the theme?
It's an adventure game where you have to unlock the normally default actions such as looking or moving. There are also some strange (well, one I had time for) action icons to unlock.

Lots of fun with charming graphics and music and atmosphere. The intro set the tone and I explained everything perfectly. I enjoyed finding the different ways to escape.

Neat take on the theme - I think it fit perfectly. Collecting the actions was strange (especially when it changed the UI with movement arrows) and the taste action was both strange and also thematic.

I had a great time with this :)

Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the game. I had a really hard time getting the visuals to be what I wanted until I stumbled on the wooden wall on the final evening of the jam. Then everything finally began to fall together at the 11th hour XD

I managed to escape ๐Ÿ˜Š! Also with the Easter Egg ๐Ÿ˜Š!

Short game, but nicely done with the ability to be able to do more and more by finding different power-ups. Maybe not really that strange (for the theme), but still cleverly devised! The mini puzzle in between was fun.

Graphically, the style was pleasant to look at, and the background music was also quite nice.

Of course, it would have been even more fun if it had been longer or had even crazier power-ups, but I know how it goes in a game jam with time constraints and overscoping. Maybe in an update you already want to do..

All in all, another fun and solid game jam entry. Already looking forward to the next jam if you participate again ๐Ÿ’ช!

Finally  played your Game! I already likes the wizard when you posted it in discord. Its a nice and enjoyable Point and Click Game and I love the Meta Level of the dialogue. I can totally See this as a longer game.

Developer

Thank you. Found the wizard on OGA and while it's static in my game, it technically is animated and quite expertly done. You can see it in the preview. https://opengameart.org/content/wizard-5

I love the idea. I always loved escape games and I never had one like that. The art is great, I love the witch theme and the music. I just wished that the game what longer with more things to do. I'll have to keep an eye on your game if you gonna expand it :)

I absolutely see this, as a "larger" game. This has tons of potential. Unfortunately it ends at the moment, when it gets really good! I mean, when I got the "taste" powerup, the first thing in my head was "wait, most point and click games don't have taste! Is this gonna get crazy?".

Presentation-wise I see what you were going for. The game has this early nineties look, that fits the genre. The sound fits the atmosphere of the game. Generally- everything here works fine, I just wish there was more of it!

Me too. There was supposed to be a lot more. It took me a while to design a room I was satisficed with and and requiring the player to switch between icons to interact with items required so many variables I barely kept straight. (There were supposed to be special infrared and ultraviolet eyes that would let you see hidden messages on the wall, which could have had so much easter egg potential.) I'd love to expand the game sometime.

Oh yes, I got the idea for taste because many years ago I played a game on Newgrounds about a little girl who had taste as one of their options due to their young age. Don't remember the name unfortunately, but the plot was her mom was accused of being a witch and the game starts after mom hides her in a trunk just before she's taken away and the kid has to get out and find her mom.

Not to brag, but the sprites for my game were made in 15-year old copy of flash, just for that early 2000's newgrounds feel :)

That's cool. I'll have to play yours later.
