Nice graphics and I appreciated the tutorial. Had a bit of a hard time blocking the ball and avoiding the bullets, though I tend do not have the fastest reflexes.

Very nice twist on a classic game😊!
You've given a really fun spin to the classic brick breaker. It was very enjoyable to play and try out the different power-ups. The game wasn't easy, by the way. In the blink of an eye, you could be out if you weren't paying attention or if the mouse moved a bit askew. Nevertheless, it remained entertaining. Graphically, it had a nice old-school classic arcade look, but with a coherent style and color palette. The SFX completed it, and perhaps an 8-bit up-tempo arcade track would make the atmosphere and ambiance even more fun. Power-ups were present and some were indeed strange. Even more would be a nice bonus in a future update. Or extra different kind of enemies...
All in all, a unique twist on this classic game and fun stuff. Well done 💪!
Waow. I definitely enjoyed the arcade game style of look. It reminds me of my early game play days with pac man. Very fun and entertaining. I especially liked how your concentration is needed every second in the game, it really raises my interest. Good job!
what a nice Color Palette! Also I like the Gameplay! Good thing I downloaded it. I was a Bit scared when I saw the file size, though. Would be great if you can Upload a Web Version After the Jam!
And cool thing you used Game maker. Trying to learn that as well! Good Job!
5mb ??!? , had doubts about it but you delivered well. the gameplay is pretty solid. and the art style is my personal favourite and the incorporation of theme is well balanced in my opinion .good job.
The game is really challenging, and playing it evokes a sense of nostalgia due to its inspiration from older games.
I absolutely loved the color palette you used, it's very pleasant and brings a sense of peace and calm, a surprising harmony.
The gameplay mechanics were very well executed as well. I enjoyed the power-ups you can collect and how they enhance the gameplay.
Honestly, I found the game quite difficult at first. I even managed the impressive feat of dying in the tutorial in under a minute, haha. But that’s part of the process, balancing a game can be tough.
Despite everything, I had a great time, it was truly enjoyable.
Congratulations on your work and the game itself, it was a wonderful experience!
Thank you so much for the detailed feedback! My idea was a sort of cross between Galaga and Breakout so I'm glad it was nostalgic.
I definitely need to reduce the difficulty since I don't think anybody made it past the first few levels. Next jam I'll try to get testers to play the prototype :)
Thanks again!
I REALLY liked this one, a very fun and creative take on the theme + I always enjoy games that remind me of breakout.
Hey the game was fun and I really enjoyed playing really refreshed some old nostalgic feeling of retro style video games of earlier times.
honestly not an easy game for me but got a hang of its controls after few losses.
art style/ UI interfaces is perfect and so is the game mechanics.
really enjoyed the game, keep up the good work and all the best for your entry!..
This might be the best game under 5mb :D . Remaking a brick breaking in this way is very interesting, gameplay is fun and smooth, There is a lot of different power ups to try, the game is a bit hard I guess and it is fun in that way :D
A suggestion: color of enemy bullets and energy rewards can be made with more different colors, it would increase the user experience quality I think :)
The gameplay was smooth, and the mix of fast-paced action with quirky skills kept it interesting. just add some more strange power ups, all the very best! keep developing. :-)
Really loved the way you implemented classic brick breaker game in your own way. Good job!! I got a problem in the game, when i got killed by the enemy attack the game crashed showing this Fatal error message

Probably the best version of brick breaker I've ever played! The sounds were great, the color palatte was very nice on the eyes, and i really enjoyed the particle trail effects on the ship and ball. I could see myself playing this game for a couple of hours in an arcade setting. It's not super innovative but it does the fundamentals of the genre very well and certainly has its own twist to things. The power-ups weren't "strange" per say, kind of the regular ones you would expect from a space version of brick breaker, so I think you could have got a bit more creative there. But overall this was a fun playthrough and I think you did an excellent job executing your vision, its a super polished and well-made game. Great entry!
The game was inspired by arcade-games so that means a lot, thank you! I stuck to an extremely limited color palatte so I'm glad you noticed it :)
I definitely agree the powerups aren't very "strange". That was the hardest part of this jam for me - I made the game but wasn't sure how to differentiate the powerups from a regular brick breaker.
Thank you for your feedback and thanks for playing - I appreciate it!
I like the idea of the game. I didn't have the chance to use a power up yet, I find the game easy to understand but not so easy to master
