How does your game fit the theme?
I implemented multiple power-ups where each is a double-edged sword to raise the stakes

such a fun game!! could not beat your score but enjoyed it a whole lot!! I got some glitching with the platforms that fell down, looked funny to me but don`t know if it your intent  ^^

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I did have some trouble getting the falling platform to work correctly, hopefully any glitching didn't affect the gameplay too much

Submitted

Yess no worries all the glitches were behind the player and didn't effect the game  ^^

The pixel art was very neat and the simple controls of using just the space bar made the game easier to understand and pick up on. The power ups were great but maybe adding more would make the game more interesting. Overall i think that this game is very impressive considering this is you'r first game.

Developer

Yeah I tried to keep it simple for my first game. New and creative power-ups would definitely be a great addition. Glad you liked it!

Yo, pixel art and retro music definitely fills me with nostalgic feeling of old school games,

I like it a lot, and your game has nice game design and game mechanics I like it a lot..

Developer

Thank you, yeah I like the old school aesthetic too!

Damn, couldn't beat your score but got to 321... is that any good😊?

For your first game, this is certainly well done. It was simple, but fun to try to progress further and score more points each time. The power-ups were also enjoyable, though perhaps not too strange but the theme is checked! Graphically, it's solid pixel art, and the 8-bit soundtrack complemented it well. The controls were good because they were super simple with just the space bar, yet it was still challenging to navigate the level successfully.

For future expansion, perhaps more variety, more enemies and even more power-ups with crazy effects could be added. Smoothing the rough edges of the game.

But all in all, a good start with your first game! Keep up the good work.💪

Developer

Thanks so much for playing, 321 is really good! Yeah I totally agree that more and stranger power-ups would be a great addition to the game

Fantastic game with a great twist on the theme. I loved how easy the game was to understand, and how the powerups were geninuely helpful but also had drawbacks to watch out for. Cute graphics too and I love the one-button input.

Congrats on your first game, this is really impressive!

Developer

Thanks so much! Glad you liked it

Very nice. This has to be my top seen so far. I like your idea of going old school on this one. Very simple yet entertaining and enjoyable game. Id like to see more from you in the future

So glad you liked it!

This is really a great idea! I honestly liked how you implemented the benefits and consequences of the power-ups, it was a clever touch.

The setting is beautiful, and I really like the game’s concept. The way you designed everything is truly creative.

If I may, I’d like to offer a few suggestions:

The power-ups could have more suggestive designs to help us understand what we’re about to collect.

More diverse behaviors for the slimes would be interesting as well, like some that emerge from the ground (with an indicator that they will do so), some that jump really high, or even some that fly, it would be fun.

Based on the idea of more behaviors for the slimes, there could also be challenging parts with rewarding paths that have more coins, like slimes flying in a line to a spot filled with coins.

We could use the coin score to buy an extra life if we happen to lose, but increasing the number of coins needed with each death and decreasing our score according to the respective cost.

A small scene transition throughout the game would also be interesting, I’m referring to the cycle of morning, afternoon, and night, which would add some visually appealing variety.

Congratulations on the game, it truly is a great job!

I love these ideas! They all expand on the basic gameplay in really great ways. Adding scene transitions and new slimes were both things I considered.  Thanks for providing such detailed feedback!

PS if you’re looking for bonus coins, try getting all 3 power ups at the same time ;)

Enjoyable and well made endless Runner with a good implementation of the Theme.  I Like it!

I enjoyed the game, especially how the power-ups kept me on my toes—each one had its own twist that made me think twice about using them. The moment I realized how well they fit the 'strange power-up' theme, I had to laugh! I’ll definitely be back to try and beat my score later!

Developer(+1)

Yeah I wanted each power-up to have some risk / reward aspect to them. Glad you liked it!

Simple, but well designed, visually and mechanically. Hope pac-man doesn't come along and ask for his fruits back :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Tried to keep the scope simple for my first game :)

Smart. I'm always overscoping XD

Just saw your easter egg in the spoiler channel.  Thanks for the encouragement to play a little longer. The egg was clever and the method of finding it makes perfect sense.

Simple, nice short game. It's a nice auto scroller with some cool art and chill gameplay! The power-ups could be more strange, but that's my only complain! Nice work!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Next jam I'll have to get more creative with the theme

I really liked the magnet attracting slimes too , it was reaaly interesting and fun feature. It makes jumping on slimes easier and more fun :D . I liked the art style too, and mario Reference :D

Suggestion: maybe there can be something to make up for the previous mistakes and move further in the screen again

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I had a similar idea that maybe there could be checkpoints at certain scores.

Simple and nice to play! Enjoyable yet not overwhelming,  really nice!

Ah, I remember using those assets! Brought me some short-term nostalgia.

Game was simple and entertaining. The transition from menu to game and the randomness of the terrain was really well done. The powerups reminded me of Temple Run though I kept dying before I got the slow-time berry.

Great work!

Developer

Thanks! I was thinking about Jetpack Joyride, but it definitely has similarities to Temple Run too

Pretty fun and simple game! I love the powerups ideas!!

Developer

Thanks! I think we used some of the same assets :)
