How does your game fit the theme?
The game features a track with two points of view, you can either see it from above the water or from under the sea. There are shaders that use different subsets of the palette in each of the views. Dithering is used to strictly use only colors in the provided palette.

Loved this, love the art style and sound. The gameplay is fun but I think it could be a little more obvious what you're colliding with at times though.
Thanks for the feedback. This was my first 3d game, still figuring out modeling and cameras. I’ll try to tweak the camera in a future review.
Cool endless duck runner game!
A nice concept and a fun interpretation of the "Two Points of View" theme. I was really bad at this game, though—I failed dozens of times because I either turned without looking or did go underwater without turning (mixed fingers) or lost sight due to the black blocks under water. I’m sure that was intentional and part of the challenge (and my lack of skill 😊), but I had to persevere to get further and give it a proper review. I managed eventually as you see.
The palette was used in a creative way, and the visuals looked great. The music was catchy and fitting for this type of game, and the way it changes when you turn was a nice touch. And of course, the cute duck sound effects were delightful!
A solid good game and concept for our jam—well done! 😊
Thanks for the comments. I will try to make it a little easier and maybe move the camera around to make it more obvious what you are colliding against. And once I make it truly “endless” I’ll try to ramp up the difficulty little by little.
You're welcome and it was a fun game to play!
Flouting duck that go under water is cute. Having SF when the duck go back to start.
5/5 for everything.
Awesome execution of everything! I think I did something wrong cause I helped made Paralateral for this jam but I can't properly rate you unfortunately.
I remembered halfway through that you were limited to the same colour palette cause it looks so different. As a composer, loved the music, loved the filter when you go underwater, awesome. Gameplay feels just like it should, no jank whatsoever, I can feel my self getting better just from my own skill as I play. This could absolutely be a full game with loads of levels with varying obstacles, background map design, difficulty levels like speed increases etc. more nice breakbeat tracks to listen to. Love it
Thanks. I got to work with a great sound artist. I’d like to make this an infinite runner at some point. Hopefully after the jam finishes.
5 across the board in my opinion, great stuff!!!
Love the art and the execution of the theme! Not just the art but the entire aesthetic, especially underwater. Very cool and very easy to understand!
A lot of work clearly went into the aesthetic and programming. The music is really relaxing and what I'd expect to hear for a game like this. The rubber duck is cute and I love the water patterns. All the collisions are pretty spot-on and polished. Unfortunately, it trips a little bit at the finish line. Left/right being flipped when upside down is a bit disorienting, and it would be nice if there was a button to automatically flip when the camera changes. I'm also not sure if the camera going underwater fits super well as a new perspective, but you adhered to the colors really well in a way that makes the palette seem bigger than it is. So it's definitely thematic overall.
Overall, pretty good stuff in need of minor additions at most. I can't think of many games with a rubber duck as the main character, so you get points for originality!
I think this is one of the better interpretations of the theme, and also is very well executed. Its a bit hard to do an di think part of that (for me at least) is that the move buttons and flip buttons are a bit to close to each other so my hands are a bit cramped together. for example making it the left and right arrow key to flip and switch camera probably would have made it a bit more easy. But very well done
One of the better games I have played in this jam.
I loved the art style and the sound design is also very good. 5 stars on both ends.
I really like the flip the duck and flip the camera mechanic, and the starts a really nice to have to incentivize the player to play the game in a "harder" way.
Like others mentioned, the game is too hard and it is not always clear what hit you. This is particularly frustrating in the end of the level, where I have no idea what keeps sending me back, independently on what camera view I am at. At the end I was just trying to end the level (not getting any starts) and still I couldn't finish it. It feels that in regular view it should have been easier (you could have kept it pretty hard for people trying to get all the stars.)
That said, I really liked the game. Great job
Thanks for your feedback. At some point I had planned an infinite procedurally generated level but I ran out of time and I just authored it by hand with an impossible “wall” at the end. The level is doable with a couple tricky parts towards the end where you just have to quickly flip down and up again, change side and do it again. Initially there were “weeds” underwater instead of “rocks” but they were even harder to see.
If any 3D artist sees this comment and want to collaborate on enhancing the obstacles shoot me a message!
I like the idea and the art style, but it's really hard!
Sometimes I cannot understand what even hit me or how I am supposed to avoid when obstacles are everywhere underwater and above x)
I actually love this game so much. Its really hard but I found a way to cheese :3
On the underwater side you can swim out the left side and avoid all the obstacles.
Other than that tho, I frikkin love ducks so this game is literally perfect. Love the art style and the way you used the limited palette, love the theme of going underwater, love the music and the squeaky duck sound effects.
is so hard
Love the visual style of switching between the two perspectives, and how it effects the music! Good game
