This is a really fun little game! I love the use of the colors.
Keep it up!
I liked it, although it was really challenging for me (I was never good in 2D platformers XD). Amazing work!!
Haha thanks for trying it !! Glad you liked it
Really cool, love this platformers with two players, really nice controls and good level designs, imagine this like a coop game with two players, would be a really fun game to play with friends, love your entry x3
Thanks very much!
Nice use of the colors and implementation of the theme, fun to play as well
Not sure if a bug but if you jump then switch of characters while one is still in the air he will stay in the air. For the rest well thought out levels
The controls are well implemented and easy to quickly get the hang of, the graphics style is consistent and suits the game, overall a well designed puzzle platformer and I don't have many suggestions for improvement, other than including an in game description of the controls. The concept is similar to my own game, would be interested to hear your feedback on it!
Thanks for playing mate! I loved your game, will leave a proper comment with feedback.
The first thing that really hit me in this game was the music and the sound design. Man, they sure do hit. Playing the game, its a pretty solid platformer where you tack on and off a ton of switches. This was pretty cool at first, but at one point or another, it started to feel less like a puzzle and more like an obby. Near what I believe to be the 5th level, I decided to stop. The presentation is wonderful, the glow is nice, the music sets a nice relaxing mood. The controls are pretty good, and the stages start off pretty well. It would be cool if the switches set off something other than disappearing platforms, such as spawning one of those shooter things and using the bullet to hit a far off switch.
Note- I just read from another comment that dashing multiple times was possible if you switch between characters- I think this is pretty cool tech!
Feedback on the Game:
1. Sound Design: The sound design is excellent! It really enhances the overall experience and complements the gameplay effectively.
2. Controls: The controls were very responsive, which made the gameplay enjoyable. However, while playing, I noticed there was no in-game reference to some controls. For example, providing a hint, such as pressing "Tab" to switch colors or "H" to dash, would improve player retention and overall usability. A small tutorial or hint system would help players discover these features naturally.
3. Level Design: The levels felt overly linear throughout the game. Different players have different playstyles, and offering alternate paths would improve player engagement and provide a more dynamic experience. A non-linear structure with varied routes and challenges would cater to different types of players and make the game more replayable. I ultimately stopped playing because there wasn’t a sufficient reward for tackling the more difficult sections, which diminished the sense of progression and achievement.
4. Color Utilization: While it wasn’t mandatory to use every color in the game, I believe the concept has significant potential if all colors were integrated. It would add depth and complexity to the game, making it more engaging. Utilizing the full color palette could enhance the gameplay experience and create a more immersive atmosphere.
5. Art and Visuals: While the game is fun to play, the character design and tileset could benefit from more polish. Enhancing the art style would help immerse the player further and improve the overall visual appeal of the game.
I would love to hear your thoughts on my feedback, and I would be happy if you to try my game as well. I appreciate your efforts, and I believe with a few adjustments, the game could be even more engaging and rewarding for players.
Thanks for the feedback mate! Super useful
An amazing game for such a short jam. I can't imagine how much thought went into the puzzles. It was neat how different projectiles or walls were only there depending on which character was the current lead. Perhaps there could be a story reason for this laid out in a cutscene? I'm not sure if the glow around the characters and objects was necessary, IMO it slightly detracted from the retro vibe. Once I realized you could dash multiple times in mid-air, it was like my third eye opened.
Also, a rare game jam game where the audio element feels really polished. Congratulations.
Thank you for the nice comment and for playing! Interesting point about the lighting feeling too modern, I'll need to look into that., might be a way of doing it that feels more old school, or removing it entirely.
You could try a dithered approach like old Sega Genesis games, maybe?
Yes good idea! Thanks, might fit more with the pixel art
a beautiful game with relaxing music and good gameplay, all platforms are in the right place, buttons, coins, keys, everything is clearly laid out as it should be, the theme of the game jam is fully revealed, in short, a very worthy game
Glad you liked it, thanks for the comment dude!
I love it. I would like to give you some points for improvement but I could not find any. At some point where I was simply not getting forward, I was like "Do I quit and try later or...nah I will finish this one"
It sounds great, the gameplay is great, controls feel very good. The level design is thought through.
The only thing I would change after the jam would be the colors. The given palette just doesn’t do the game justice.
Thanks very much mate! Glad you enjoyed it!
Really fun idea! The art is adorable and the gameplay is satisfying. The respawn points could be a bit brutal though
Thank you for the nice comment and feedback!
