The game balance is... not optimal, but I'm very happy with how the visuals and most of the mechanics worked out.

Great choice for the jam. Reminded me of a really old Spectrum game called 1984 where you had to run the UK government.
I liked the mechanics for layout out the pamphlet and briefing the MP candidate although there was a bit of a disconnect between the letter typing and the theme.
I had trouble with the canvassing - maybe the houses are too small?

I played from the download by the way as it was better than the browser version.

Was that the tie-in game for Yes Minister? I haven't played it but I was aware of it so maybe that subconsciously fed in! And yes, plenty of potential changes that fell victim to the short deadline, but I'm glad you enjoyed it overall!

I found some info here: https://www.mobygames.com/game/zx-spectrum/1984-a-game-of-government-management-
In 1984 you played as prime minister - it was a sort of economics simulator - which is quite different to your game but it reminded me if it anyway.

Wow, you managed to add so much content to this game just in a week! Bravo! The game looked very good and stylish! Very distinguish. Mini games are fun too! Would love to see this turned into a larger project. Well done!

It was fun ! Like the mini games except the one where you have to click on houses.

I had a bug after the mini game when you do a speech, there was a black screen

Glad you enjoyed it! I'll check on that and see what might be happening. Were you playing in the browser? That version hasn't been as thoroughly tested and GMS2's exports for web can be dodgy.

Super fun idea, with interesting mechanics. However, the font was very small and since it's a text-heavy game this made it a bit hard to play it for longer bursts of time. Well done overall. :)

Love the idea and the way this game looks - really fun

This game looks really cool but for some reason the font comes up as an unreadable tiny size. I really want to play it but can't for the life of me.

You might have more luck downloading it - the html5 exports from GMS2 are notoriously buggy and it's mostly there as the best option for people who don't have a PC. The downloaded version should play at full screen and be more readable - sorry you've had trouble with it!

I will have to get out my windows laptop and try downloading it then!

Great game!

It looks great and the ambience of british people and the audio in general really fit the theme. The minigames, although all of them fit the theme of an election and were creative, but I thought the game were you have to press on the houses to convince them to vote was kinda boring. The best in my opinion was the one with the megaphone car.

All in all it's really impressive on what you have created in a single week :)

Thanks a lot! Yes, there was a lot of extra ambition for the minigames that the deadlines restricted - I'll have a look at putting a couple of extra days into finishing it off properly down the line!

Wonderful game, unmistakably British flavor. I feel like I could get a pint, talk local politics now and maybe pass as a brit ðŸ˜„. Minigames were well integrated into the logic of running a campaign, great use of graphics and audio. Very impressive for one person.

Thank you! I'm pleased with how it came together for having been thrown together in a week!
