I really enjoyed this game. The difficulty was reasonable. I like the 'tactics' feeling of the graphics and the UI. Well done!

awesome game!  animations are smooth  and the sounds give the experience of battle, it took me a bit to get the hang of it, but I am highly satisfied by the gameplay, the map and other features give me a sense of place and positions of the troops. I really like playing strategy games and I would be playing this again. Congratulations! keep it up!

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. I give my best going forward from here :)

Great strategy game. I would invest a lot of time in games like this; where you can control an army and conquer territory. Amazing job!

I love strategy games and could easily see myself spending a lot of time with a game like this. The map as battlefield was very fresh and interesting, like some table-top/strategy mix, I liked it a lot!

Perhaps the only thing I was a bit frustrated by was the elements we are trained to depend on when playing games and it's a bit annoying when it doesn't quite work as expected - I mean the little things, this is after all a game jam - like it didn't seem to select all the soldiers within my selection box, and I didn't see any indication of what I had selected. Another thing in the same area would be the fact that my selection was cleared (it seemed) when giving my unit orders. It's very small things ofcourse and I don't want you to think I'm trying to find even the smallest errors, because the whole sense moral here is that I was unable to find big problems, I liked the game very much, and if this is something you will improve in future, I will definitely get back to it one more time! I see the ability to do a lot here! I think the best thing with it is that innovative look.  :D  Grand work!

Developer

Thanks!

Yeah it's a jam, but obvious bugs like not being able to select all troops you want that should be fixed. I will try to sort that out in an update.

Also I have gotten much feedback on how terrible the visual feedback in this game is, so that's something I need to look at to.

The thing that the selection gets cleared was an itentional decision, but I may change it if it does not work in a satisfyong way for the player, of course this couldalso be fixed by showing which and if troops are selected. Thanks for the extensive feeback I will certainly incorporate it in an update, I'd be honored if you ever come back to this game and hopefully then all the glaring issues are fixed.

Very interesting game, The graphics were really appropriate, the gameplay was really fun to get into, would have liked to hear some classical music in the background or something as I mowed down tons of little men, But as it stands the game has tons of potential, always enjoy a good strategy game. Really liked the limitations of cannons it gave it a strategic edge and the different map information was so good to look at. Excellent game!

Developer

Thanks!

Some added sound effects and music may really be to the game's advantage.

I'm happy you enjoyed it, thanks for the feedback!

I enjoyed this. The use of individual soldiers representing strength in an area works very well.
I was a bit lost until I realised I could bring in a horde of replacements in the top right corner.

It would be good if the selected units were highlighted. I noticed it usually didn't select all the units in the rectangle.

The map could be improved by having impassable areas - This was a big factor in this area in WWI. Or make the units move slower over the mountain passes.
Maybe you should only win a territory when its clear enemies.

Not sure what the guns do - I didn't see any effect.

You might also consider a 2 player option - that could be fun.

Developer

Yeah the visual feeback for the player seems to be the worst part of this game and In really need to take another look at.

I thought once about having Impassable areas but decided against them and made the soldiers go slower depending on the steepness/height of the area, which you can see on the height map.

For the guns, if you mean the artillery, you can select them first, then select a target (within it's range) and then a projectile will be shoot from it to the selected point.

I never thought about a 2 player option, one as the Austrians and the other as the Italians may be really fun.

Thanks for the Feedback :) !!

Interesting gameplay mechanic very enjoyable to play. To improve the gameplay visual feedback on orders made by Player would be appropriate.

Graphical improvements of units and turrets in game would help to distinctively and quick identify the game objects on scene.

Overall very well done and fun to play. Good work.

Developer

Thanks, I will take not of your feedback in a future update :)

You did some really good work here. I liked the historical background and that you gave disclosure about what isn't historically accurate. Nice to have different kinds of maps too in-game. I would have liked to see a more visible confirmation of when I clicked soldiers, they were very small and it was hard to choose them all and make them move. Maybe you could fuse them all together so that 5 soldiers make up a unit or something and you move all 5 when clicking one of them? Just an idea. :)

Well done overall!

Thanks!

Yeah, seems like the visual feedback in the game is pretty trash, because another person already pointed it out.  I will probably make visual things like that better in a small future update.

Grouping them all into units sounds like a good idea, but I would have to think about it since in the way the code is structured now it would take a complete overhaul.

Really thanks for the Feedback, I appreciate it :)
