Reminds me of a bunch of old flash games.

It feels like I’m not really interacting with the game though. Since all I can do is click launch and hope my character lands on something until I have enough money to buy upgrades, it doesn’t feel like much of a game.

I think you should at least let the player aim and charge up the cannon with a meter system like in golf games. This would at least make the player feel like they’re more in control.

You should also make the floor bouncier so the player can keep going for longer periods of time to increase the chance of them hitting a bouncy object

Really great interpretation of one shot , the graphics remind me of happy wheels which is not unpleasant . Great works GG.

A really fun game. I think the art does a great job at emphasizing the fun nature of the game and the mechanics. I think maybe 2 separate leaderboards, one for only vanilla shots, and another for campaign mode shots would be a good idea.

Thanks for playing the game and giving feedback :)

The idea of the game is very good, but sometimes it looks like you always start in the same direction. How about the cannon starts moving a little bit to change the direction?  With that, when the player be lauched, he will launch it on different positions.

I like the idea. Was a little bit hard to buy the things 'cause I have to do the same move all over again. But it's a playable game

 Good luck.

There are two old games that I got reminded of while playing this, one was called penguins cant fly or something and the other was pebble dash/throw something on miniclip, I always really enjoy progression based games like this it is and this is no exception! The game goes the core mechanic/progression system as it should! Oh, this is also one of the first of its kind that i've come across so far!
I would say visually it is a bit rough though that's alright since we're in a game jam and the focus should be the core/gameplay which you've done nicely! 😁 Congrats on the submission!

What I liked:

  • The music was simple but great
  • I like the progression of items, and wanting to get enough money for the next item to see how powerful it is
  • I liked the parallaxing background
  • Felt very nostalgic of many flash games I played back in the day

Feedback:

  • Got an error when trying to look at the credits (null function or function signature mismatch)
  • It seems that you have no influence on the shooting position, and that you get to influence the outcome once you have items, and so you have to play several times at the start where you can't do anything in order to get to the more fun part of the game
  • By the time you get better items, random objects that you encounter don't seem to matter too much - I wish they were more impactful so I can be excited by the rng of how my next run is going to play out, as opposed to basically knowing how it's going to go (use item to go fast, then activate spring when I'm close to the ground)
  • I really didn't like how going above a certain threshold cut my speed down to around 40 - I saved up all my money for tnt, and then very quickly went too high, so it felt like a waste of my hard earned cash :(
  • Items should be able to activate at the same time - I tried to use a bomb at the same time I had a spring active, and it did nothing, which also felt like a waste of my hard earned cash :(
  • I think the speed of items should be additive - so if I a faster rocket that sets my speed to 50, and then a slower rocket, it should add to my speed, not set it to 30

I had lots of fun with this one, it really brought back a lot of memories for me, nice work!

Thanks for the detailed feedback, to be honest I did not even think that the speed will be reduced going from faster rocket to slower, that's my bad. Also you are right about the speed getting cut off, will definitely fix that. I really liked all your suggestions and gonna try to implement them :)

Really fun game.
I spent  a lot time playing it.
Reminds me of the olden times of playing in Miniclip.

Very funny, it was one of the first ideas I had but I regretted it, thank goodness you made it a reality, it's very good. Congratulations

Thank you so much for playing the game!!

This is fantastic. Starts out slow but the cash mechanic is a great way to reward the player for progressing. I also really appreciate that you saved the cash I earned to my Hyplay login, that makes it really fun to come back and continue score-chasing. Nice music, and great flash game vibes. My only criticisms are: I think the rocket icons should be sideways to indicate that they boost you in that direction, and I think that items should not be consumed if you use them when another item is already in use.

Excellent work!

Glad you enjoyed the game! Thanks for the suggestions and feedback

Neat idea, though plays a little slow. Ramping up the speed by a lot could help. Could use some more cash in the beginning, or maybe some quantity of smaller items to show you how to use them since I didn't realize you had to earn small amounts of money with multiple launches before needing to buy them. Not bad for a quick entry.

Developer

Thanks for playing the game giving feedback!! That is a nice suggestion regarding money in the beginning.

the art is not good .progress is slow . not really fun gameplay

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and the feedback, the art style for sprites was on purpose to make it look a bit goofy. Somewhat similar to old flash games with low budget. The progress is slow for first few trials but grows exponentially soon with powerups😊

I feel like this is a web game more focused on a rogueliking style instead of an arcade style, its quite fun to be fair
