Oh this game is so much fun!!

The silly mechanics of the gravity for the blocks, and blocks from the same color being attached giving more score adds alot to the gameplay of it. Also I like the sound effects when everything falls apart.

Great game overall, very polsihed and one could play it for a long time :D

This game is so great! I love the simple but effective Idea of like coloured blocks giving a score boost, as it encourages risky plays to get more points. Awesome job!

Couldn't get 100 points    D:

Firstly, LOVE the art style! I haven't seen anything like it before and it works really well for this type of simple game. The gameplay feels super smooth and I find it interesting how such a basic set of instructions leads to such interesting gameplay :) I did feel, however, that some of the sound effects were a bit out of place, but that's obviously just a small nitpick due to the jam's time constraints. I could definitely see this being developed further into a larger game, but as it stands (haha, stands? like the tower!?! haha!!!), it's already a greatly polished game! Some additional gamemodes with different colours/shapes/ground sizes could also be an interesting avenue to take it, also. Finally, I love the silly, wonky physics - it definitely suits this type of game. Well done!! :)

Thanks!  I agree that the sound effects are a bit out of place, I didn’t get a chance to add them until like 4am so they’re just random downloads from the internet :P

Hahaha, no worries at all, we've all been there :P

This game reminds me a lot of Tricky Towers. The audio was very quiet but the game was fun.

:D

Very fun and addictive game! The collisions are very fair and I love the cat sound which plays when the tower crumbles to ruins. Well done!

High score : 90 (if someone wants to try and beat it ;D)

In a way this is the best entry I've played thus far. Like this an addictive game that I would wanna play to kill a few minutes. And there's the way the "messy" art style fits in with the overarching theme of the game.

Fantastic game that deserves to win the gameplay category.

Thank you! Great to hear such positive feedback on my first game jam game, and I'm glad you had fun!

Crash bang wallop!

Also reminds me of tricky towers. You always want to optimize the placement to fit the most pieces on top which makes a satisfying gameplay loop. Maybe the spawn point of the shapes can be randomized.

Hard Mode Tetris, an enjoyable challenge

Worlds hardest Tetris game

(it was a fun game though)

Mom can we have tetris?
We have tetris at home

Tetris at home:

seriously though, it's a great deal of fun. And a bit of frustration. But mostly fun.

Very fun, a neat physics-based Tetris. The game felt good, I would just change the hard drop to a much faster or true hard drop (instant), and maybe increase the fall velocity (or maybe ramp that up as the game goes on?) I love the crayon art style and the game was very satisfying.

A rather cool twist on the theme! Reminds me of Tricky Towers. Well Done!

my highscore was quite low like 429 anyway great game

Developer (1 edit)

yeah, that's quite low.  Just build your tower with a single color and you can score like 2 more points than that
