It is really fun to play dude. Good job!

I’m almost mad about how clever this is. I spent the whole of the intro section feeling like my jump was so pathetic, and confused about how this was going to work as a platformer. Then as soon as I found the first white square, my entire brain just lit up. I wanted so much more of this game than there was to play 😭

Not to mention the pixel art is really pleasant. And the joke in the intro made me smile a lot. I’m seriously so impressed with this, I want more.

I'm definitly SUPER happy about all the positive feedback I got for this game, and plan on turning it to a full game with my free time! :D

I have tons of ideas which lit up in my mind as I created this (demo) game and I feel like it's potential could reach great heights!

Thank you for playing! :>

Really great idea! I love the shots at Icoso in the intro, and the gameplay is fun and satisfying! Awesome job!

Woah, this is incredible! I was a bit unsure where it was going at first, but once I made that first connection to another square (great foreshadowing in the intro sequence, by the way, love that!), it all suddenly made sense! Not only did the platforming feel responsive and tight, but the puzzles also complimented the movement really well, too! I liked how you stuck to a minimalist style (quite similar to the original Pico-8 Celeste), and only used small sprites throughout the game. This really helps to create a cute and somewhat eerie atmosphere for you to discover. Again, the puzzle mechanic worked super well and I think it was a fantastic implementation of the theme and geometricness!

I did find the jump sound effect to be slightly repetitive and harsh, so I'd suggest adding a bit of randomness to the pitch every time it's played. Even a small +- 10% whenever playing the sfx breaks up the monotony and keeps the player a bit more engaged. And obviously with some more time outside of the jam, you could include some tunes and more details to the world, such as different colour flowers, mushrooms, small critters, and snowmen :P Overall, I really, really enjoyed this and like you said on the game page, I would love for this to be worked on more! Amazing effort for your first jam game! :D

Thank you for this awesome feedback! For what is of the sound effects, it was my very first time implementing them in a game, and it was getting very late so I do agree that some of it feels a bit odd. I am proud of how it turned out though, because it was my first experience with them! I do also plan on expanding upon this project when I'll have time after this Jam officially ends! :>

Thanks again!

Well the fact that you were able to add them in given the time constraints is great! Well done on a great entry :)

very nice game! i loved the mechanics but im kinda bad and i kept falling into the water lol very cool tho, the graphics look really good! :D

dude what the hell is that ?? it's such a genius way of using the theme like i had fun trying some shapes that weren't suppose to work until it did (i felt so much satisfaction ngl), the artstyle is 10/10 ! Sadly there is no music but i think you spent all of your time elsewhere and we can defenitely tell... Very great entry, and here is yours : <3 !

You can't understand how happy your comment makes me feel <3! I worked hard to get everything done on time and it's definitely worth the effort when I see others enjoy my creation.

Thank you! :>

Great!

I didn't pass the moment after the big "3" on screen. I managed to jump in between the piles once, but was unable to make it again. Still, I LOVED the game mechanic.

Thank YOU for playing!!!

I've got some mixed feelings on this. First of all the game absolutely gorgeous; you really nailed the pixel art! But then there's just no music at all. The core mechanic is simply genius but I don't think its utilised as well as it could be; personally what made it special was the puzzles were the player has design their shape correctly and not the challenge of platforming with weird shapes. Basically I didn't like how in the later parts of the game, the player was rail-roaded into using certain shapes.

That being said. I still think you've got something genuinely special here and I really hope that you continue to develop it; with a bit of work this could become a successful game :)

First of all, thank you for this really thoughtful comment! I did run out of time towards the end so I tried to create diverse level concepts. The one where you design your shape was definitely also my favorite! I only got the time to add a few sounds to make mechanics and gameplay more satisfying, but no music ;L. I do plan on pushing this project further thanks to all of you guys' great feedback!

Thanks again! ;D

I love the twist this puts on a classic platformer!

It was fun! Great take on a classic platformer

It is a cool mechanic to assemble the shapes. Gameplay-wise it was very satisfying. Also nice level variations.

Developer

Thank you, the mechanic took me so many hours to get just right, glad people enjoy it so much!

A bit of music and you’d have a complete game, but all in all Well Done!

Nice puzzle game. Would be nice if there was a background and more variation with the sound effects. Still, cool game!

:D

Thanks!

:D

Edit: Adding a backround was one of the first thing I wanted, but I had to delay it like other ideas towards the end of the project as it wasn't a priority! Sadly, I didn't have the time! ;P

This is a solid puzzle game, evidently better audio would help but it's not the biggest deal especially for a puzzle game. The jump does feel a bit off to me but it could just be me.

Developer(+1)

I added the audio at like 1AM before the deadline. Did my best, thanks for the feedback!

this was so fun, great well thought out puzzles and a nice artstyle

Very very fun, definitely a head-scratcher for many puzzles. The levels were really well designed, and always had that beautiful a-ha moment.

The water is animated :D
