Nice concept. I am not sure that the random level generation could make an interesting series of puzzles though. You might get more progressive difficulty if you design your levels manually... maybe.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, you're probably right, we've started designing pre-made levels already and will probably have a "campaign" mode and a "random generated" mode at one point. Thanks for playing!

Cool game, at first i was struggling trying to find a path to get all of the stars until i remembered: - "Oh yeah i can dig!" :D

Developer

Indeed! :) Thanks for trying our game!

Submitted

Wait a minute, you can dig! O.O

Very interesting idea, took me a good minute or two to figure out how to play the game. xD

Though not sure if this is a loophole, I seem to get by just fine without rotating the tiles?

Developer

Thanks, Norris! :)

Indeed some maps can be solved without rotating (and sometimes even without digging, although that's quite rare). We're planning on limiting digging, just not quite sure about the method. At the moment we're thinking that there will be pickaxe pickups (no pun intended) and digging will eventually break the tool. We'll just need to strike a good balance...

Great idea for a game. I’m ashamed of how long it took me to realize I could dig. Overall, I had fun playing.

Once the jam is over, do you plan to transfer over the changes you are making on the varcel site?

Developer

Hi there! Thanks for playing.  Indeed we badly need a quick control scheme tutorial at the beginning, the shame is on us, not you :)

And yes, once the voting phase is over, we will update the game on Itch and probably put a redirect on the Vercel version, since it's only a temporary measure due to the fact that uploads are locked (for good reason) at the moment.

I made a separate game on itch so I could continue working on updates to make my submission game better. I figured that way, I could keep the jam version untouched to show what I was able to do in 48 hours and where the game started.

Not saying you need to do the same thing, just a thought.

Developer

You've got a point. I think I'll do that before the next update!

Nice concept. Combining the tile rotation with character movement brings a lot of control on how to solve each level. I had a cool situation where I had to rotate a tile, jump to a new higher platform that was now in front of me, rotate my original tile and go back to get the star. Really cool head-scratching puzzle idea.

Developer

Thanks for playing, Johnny! We're glad you've enjoyed the game. An updated version will be up in the devlog in a few hours, if you're interested. We've squashed a bunch of bugs and balanced the game a bit more.

That was intense! I love it

Took me a bit to realise there was more to it than just rotating blocks (I even thought i was the pink ball and I had to move it using gravity lol) but once I read the controls in the description and realized what was going on i was hooked.

At first I was mostly using the digging to get places, but once i got a couple levels in that stopped working and I actually had to engage with the mechanics, which was great because by then I had the controls down. I got to up to level 5 btw

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for trying our game! Level 5 is no small achievement :) we'll definitely add a few instructions in-game so there's no need to check the description, but I was happy that the core mechanics made it into the build before the deadline, it was a very late submission :)

Very fun game, the first time I played I got stuck but then I re-read the controls and realized that you can also dig in the ground which made it even more enjoyable (if a bit too easy maybe)

Developer

Thanks for giving it a go, Seizar! We'll be adding a short tutorial so it's clearer without reading the description. And today I'll be implementing the limited digging feature, I just hope we can strike a good balance, since the current level generation methods are a bit chaotic and sometimes it's essential to dig to get all the targets.

What a cool idea! This jam has platformers and tile rotators but this is the first one I've seen with those combined, and it makes for some unique gameplay. Sometimes there'd be an enemy near a star and I'd rotate so the enemy falls through the floor and BOOM easy star. Other times I would have to find a cave to dig to be the perfect height for a star. Thanks for sharing!

Developer

Thanks for trying our game! It does have a lot of room for improvement, we're already working on quality of life updates. If you're interested in an improved version, feel free to follow us on Itch!

Very nice concept.  The procedural generation is a very great idea for replayability but it needs some fine tuning as you can get stuck sometimes with no path to reach the stars .

Appart from that, really good job. It make for some very good puzzles. :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks Szym! You are 100% right about the path issue, however you can dig your way out of most situations with Q/E and get to stars that are enclosed with blocks. In fact the current infinite digging ability kinda makes things too easy sometimes; we're working on this :)

This is too much for me… But I tried my best… This is good puzzle…

Developer

Thanks, Kushal! As this was a last minute entry we probably ended up screwing up the difficulty as we didn't do enough playtesting, so I feel ya :)
