Nice quick gameplay loop.  Good graphics with nice use of color.

Really fun gameplay.

My only complaints would be that boosting with right click locks the cursors which could be a bit annoying and caused one or two deaths, and that you could fly off screen but then you couldn't shoot.

Also there's no end screen, the game just instantly restarts. So showing something there, and maybe your current and best score would have been nice.

The shooting sound was satisfying, but the tinny hit sfx was a bit annoying, and I wasn't a fan of the music.

I thought this was called something else ;) This is so hard I couldn't get over 300 points, good game idea!

Submitted

I love the idea and gameplay. It perfectly fits to the low-rez theme.
Well developed, great work!

An interesting idea and implementation, the game is nice to play, it looks and sounds great. I liked that the controls are intuitive, but the gameplay is not easy.

Submitted

As everyone said, it's like Luftrausers BUT I still find interesting how the comparison is only for the graphiscs. For controls it is really original and changes a lot from Luftrausers.
In my opinion as I spent to much time on Luftrausers ^^ I would say it's a downgrade but definitely a bowl of fresh air. Keep making marvels like that ! 😍

Beautifully rendered and I appreciate the simplicity of the controls. This could definitely benefit from a larger viewport (given you a bit more time to maneuver).

I wonder how it would feel if it were a hair slower which would give you a bit more time to react.

Loved this. Like others said, it definitely has some inspiration from Luftrausers, but it's damn good none the less. The visuals are nice and clean and the characters are well differentiated from the backgrounds. Music is nice as well

One of the best looking 64x64 games I've seen and it plays very well for the small scale. Total package, top marks.

Liked the gameplay, though playing with trackpoint kinda hard. The music is very cool and reminds futuristic games from ps1 era.

Submitted

It felt smooth to control, looks great, music is also really good.I just clicking outside of the game a bit too much, and died because of that lol. just overall great game

I really like the control scheme. The game reminds me of Luftrausers. I really like overall vibe of this game, the art style and soundtrack is great. I just wish the game was a bit more zoomed out so you can see the enemies or using some kind of indicator to show where they are outside of the camera view. Nice job regardless!

Developer

Yes, I agree. The game was going to be zoomed out even farther, but I didn't like how it looked. Everything lacked detail., which made it less entertaining. If there had not been a resolution limit, I would have made the game more zoomed out.

Awesome graphics and effects! The gameplay is simple but addictive. Good job!

VERY good,amazing gameplay

Submitted

Very simple, but also very very satisfying. Love the focus given to flashy visual effects.

Really liked this, looks amazing,

wish at the end of the round you could see the score you have, and there was a prompt to re-start,

music was cool,  and the low rez looked great with this game.

You could have differed form Luftrausers with the mechanics my guy

Better be safe then sorry. or something

Imagine joining a game jam and you try to come up with good game while another person tries to make a great existing game instead of being creative

This is how you capitalizeIn my opinion, This is the best game idea you could ever get. There are only around two games that are similar to Luftrausers, thus there isn't much competition.

Submitted

that’s why it’s annoying, you copied a good game and put a new paint job on it (art looks good btw), so yeah there’s no competition for you because you copied a game that was well thought out, just because a game is good doesn’t mean you should make that same exact game just to avoid competition.

Developer (1 edit)

You are correct. This was unethical behavior on my part. Making something unique requires far more effort, and to be honest, I'm too lazy to create something unique.

Submitted (1 edit)

don't say that bro you can totally make a unique game, I just think you should change up the gameplay mechanics so that it's not the same as Luftrausers.

Submitted (1 edit)

Everybody copies everyone all the time. We can only think of things we've already seen. If it's more blatant in a game competition for fun that doesn't mean it's inherently bad. It's good to change it up, but at the end of the day it's just a fun game.

Submitted

I see your point but in a competition I don’t think this is the right thing to do, coming up with a game idea is arguably the hardest part, and he didn’t have anything (to my knowledge) saying that he didn’t come up with the idea.

I have one word for this masterpiece.
