Nice pixel art however the game is not within the 64x64 screen resolution limit of the jam even factoring in scaling.
Great rendition of a classic. I like that my fireballs shot straight out (definitely OP).
Wish more people would do studies of classic games like this.
Cute graphic. I want to hear some sounds in this game :D
Good job.
I really wanted to try this on my phone and I'm super impressed that the controls are so snappy on mobile. This is a legit demake of Mario. I would really love to see future updates on this. Really great job!
As others have said, cute game! There are some flaws regarding the 64x64 limitation (character movement on subpixels). Despite that, I love the frame you had there and the feel of the game. Jump is a bit floaty and I'd love to see a bouncing fire, but cool 1-1 otherwise!
Thats a cute entry :) You could keep working on it to improve it, sounds like a good project! One thing I noted is that it is not strictly a true 64x64 display as I've seen the character could be placed on position like half a pixel, as well as the elements. Something to look after imho. Good job anyway!
Yeah, In fact the game is 64*64 but is scaled to 640*640
Very cute redesign of a classic game. The game boy around the screen looks really cool. I wish the game was a bit longer.
Good ol' mario demaked. I liked the gameboy (or something) around the game, I expected to see the button pressed or something to reflect what I did with the keyboard xD.
You outsmarted Jam's outsmarting by taking away even more pixels from your disposal. And making a demake of a game that was already in low res xD That's some 300IQ moves right here, hehe. BUT! You've commited an incredible sin - you've used different sprites for bushes (in original NES game, the clouds and the bushes are the same sprite, but different color) - thus zero stars for graphics (nope). Overall, good little funny goofy project! Nice!
I didn't know that someone already made such a game😅
Really cute game, you did a great job on demaking the artstyle, and on top of that putting it in a little handheld to boot! I do wish there was sound, and while the jumping was floatier than I anticipated it overall played very well and I enjoyed this little demake a lot
This is super cute. Putting it inside a little game boy was very clever. Nice job!
Again big congrats to your cool Mario interpretation. Rating done. And thanks for your help.
Pretty good one! Missing some stuff and mostly the sounds/music. There are some good simple tools to create 8 bit sound effects you could use :)
I could make the sounds in rfxgen(really like it) but I lack knowledge and skills at making music
Thanks for feedback!
Yea, understood :D Anyway still really good.
Good start and great sprites for how small they all. The movement could do with a little bit of tightening up.
Appears to be a good framework to expand on. Physics feel a bit too floaty
Cute, especially with the gameboy design and that the buttons work! But no sound? :/
You got it(
I'm too inexperienced in making good music and sounds at the moment.
Maybe I need a music/sound designer
Anyways thanks for feedback!
I understand you completely - this game jam was also my first time making music and I think it turned out pretty decent. I can recommend playing around with "Bosca Ceoil" and watching some youtube videos about people making tracks in Bosca Ceoil if you want to learn it for yourself :)
Goomba melted O__O
Cute sprites! I tried to find the secret block with no luck...
I'm kinda lazy to recreate all the original mechanics. Maybe I'll complete or remake this game in the future.
But anyways thank you for feeback!
oh! was just a joke, nobody expected this level of remaking in a game jam.
I just catch myself that muscle memory tried to hit invisible block ))
