Music kind of unfitting, but I seem to be alone on that. No soundFX? Nice effort on the graphics.

Thanks for feedback - I'm still getting used to unity, that's why there's no sound effects 😅

If i could give audio 6 stars I would, that music is absolutely fire. Gameplay is really good too and the art was fantastic! Only comment I can provide is that some of the UI got in my way when i was moving underground, maybe have the player be on one side of the screen instead of the center depending on movement? Hope that helps :)

Thanks for the feedback! Audio is not mine (i mentioned authors in the description). Yeah, the camera was the issue, cause it was my first time i used a cinemamachine (so i did the best i could with it), but i'll figure something out in the post-jam. Version

Neat platformer !

I really like the hand drawn artstyle, and i found the level start where you’re dropped off a ship to be incredibly cool :D

while the controls themselves felt fine, i think my biggest gripe was with the platforming, but i feel more due to the level design. There were some areas where you have to make some very pixel perfect jumps, and at time some weird spots where you’d have to find a way to not bump your head on the platform ahead to fit trough the gap and keep going.

But other than that nothing really gamebreaking, i really like the verticality as well, especially with the detail of having clouds showing up when you go high enough.

Overall good job :)

Nice graphics and nice music. Great job for such a short period of time! Bravo!

Really pretty visuals!

Great art style and it benefited from you doing this solo since it all fit so well together.  Got a lot done solo in two weeks.  You've earned a breather!

The graphics are amazing! You did a great job on the game. Keep up the great work!

Cool aesthetic! The gameplay is nice but is a bit lacking in feedback (enemy destruction animations and sfx mostly). Also the part involving descending felt a bit too much like guesswork since the camera wasn't pulled back enough to show what was below. I also accidentally kept shooting the tutorial bird which tried to teach me how to glide several times, though that's really on me. Otherwise, nice work!

I must say, I'm very impressed by what was presented here! First of all - Kyanite Wings has Style in capital S, visuals have very distinct comic book feel to them, however it would mean nothing if the game was clear as mud. I'm happy to say it's not the case - graphics are comprehensible and I had no problem with distinguishing physical objects and enemies. Enemy design also is creative, fun and most of all - it's pleasure to fight them, they are not hard to beat by any means, however they can be threatening if you're not careful. Also level design was easy, but enjoyable most of the time, but that also would be nothing if the movement wasn't satisfying. Glad to say it is, it's propably my favourite element of the entire game. There are not many options of moving, however combining jump and gliding can be more than enough if done properly and they were done exactly like that. I felt true pleasure just by simple walking, jumping and gliding through the map and the slight weight that our character has was also the major part of the experience. Everything felt responsive for me,
However, there are some downsides to the project - I said level design was enjoyable most of the time. Well, there were instances where I just couldn't get to some heals cause they were hidden under the unapproachable platform and while I had more hp than enough, it wasn't the most satisfying thing (lemme get to those!). Also there were some minor bugs, like unwanted clenching to some platforms, however they didn't ruin the gameplay and the only thing I had to do is to slightly move the mech, so really no big deal.
In conclusion - I'm fascinated and glad I was able to play this! Style, movement feel, music, level design - these are the major advantages and I'm waiting for more projects and possibly expanding this one. Loved it!

Nice work! Great art, elaborate level design!

I didn't know that "shift" was "glide" because I think I kept killing the hummingbird on accident off-screen, since it's placed behind enemy obstacles you need to clear out. Might just be worth explaining the controls in the description as well.

But well done! I'm impressed with the sprite work and UI.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback - I should definitely do that, cause killing a tutorial birds was a gimmick i liked, but i definitely should have placed them a bit higher (oopsie) - many people suggest i should do that - and I will!

Really enjoyed the visual style (though sometimes I wish static dangers were more obviously going to hurt me such as the red lasers against the red/orange background). Overall things felt good, but in a platformer the controls have to be very responsive to feel like you're not getting cheated. The main issue I had was the lack of a coyote jump. I kept jumping a split second too late (or early before landing) and would simply fall :( Very nice project overall!

Noice Visuals,

have some potential, the glide isn't sure how it works.

Overall i had a hard time getting over the second obstacle that machine after those 3 guys you have to shoot.

Good Work, Keep it up and improve it!

Developer

Thank for your feedback! Sorry to hear that you had hard time. To glide just hold the shift in air and moving direction you want to glide - you can't glide if on the ground though (
